[Photos from 01 May to 11 May 2019, posted online 07 November 2019. It beginning to get dark outside well before dinner now. So far only a bit of occasional frost, but no snow on our corner of the country.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May brought visits to the farm animal & family park, a walk or two, down-town date-night, various sports practices, parties with family and friends, lots of gardening, and no more studded tires!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki also had his spring guitar recital, the video from that is on the very bottom of the page. (40-ish images and 1 video total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday 01 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you squint you can see our adrenaline junkies, Bjarki and Emma, falling down!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Yup, it was a public holiday, and the family park had opened its rides ahead of schedule due to the nice weather!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I found that my Edinburgh-hat did well in the slight breeze. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I think the park went through a bunch of renovations in time for its 25th birthday this year. This area is usually a pond!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Emma found a big bike!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I was curious where the new very-fun-looking play-structure came from, turns out it’s this company: Spielart GmbH<\/a>. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It looks like we stopped by at Finnur’s parents’ place!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 02 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Emma hanging out outside, working up the nerve to ask a new neighbor to play. I think this story had a happy ending.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Friday 03 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I always seem to get itchy feet when the sun starts shining high in the sky, so this lunch-time I went out for a walk.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The view was interesting as the fire-struck structure next to my workplace was being rebuilt.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Date-night survived another month, this time in downtown Reykjavik. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our destination was the restaurant Rok inside this renovated old house.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We got cozy seats up on the second floor, thankfully away from the loud hubbub on the ground floor.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 04 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Saturday meant gymnastics practice for Emma.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Non-healthy lunch after all that healthy movement!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

That evening we had dinner with friends. The most memorable moment of the night was a third girl, the same age as these two, forcefully singing Iceland’s Eurovision entry by Hatari: Hatri\u00f0 mun sigra (Hate will prevail)<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I got a new toy! Yup, that’s a battery-driven electrical tree-shearer! <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After the shrubbery had been trimmed (a bit late, like usual), we headed over to a birthday party in my family.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Proof that I showed up at the gym. Sadly that doesn’t mean much more that just that.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Taking a photo is the quickest way to do a fridge inventory before heading out to the store.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As the weather kept playing nice, the weeds began multiplying, so I went on the attack.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki helping out with what is probably the earliest mowing of the grass ever!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bringing the grass-bag to the mower. This was the summer I stopped using the mower-attached-bag, and just ‘combed’ the grass afterwards. It meant a lot less grass to get rid of!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
