We made a conscious decision to not go to any of the big parks over the weekend, instead going to smaller venues to avoid people-traffic. (I really dislike crowds, and try avoid them as much as I can!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead we visited a small go-kart place<\/a> that also had an alligator pit, and an arcade, and somehow managed to spend most of the day there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day after that we had an ‘early’ rise and went to a tree-climbing adventure park<\/a>. We had a late lunch at Denny’s, and then the older females went and got manicures and pedicures! (40-ish photos total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 23 February 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Earlier that day featured the usual pandemonium in the kitchen around lunchtime. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The go-kart place<\/a> had an alligator pit, go-karts, and a games arcade. We subscribed to their email list and got an admissions ‘offer’ straight away.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The alligators weren’t very big though.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
You got a bit of feed with the admissions ticket. The alligators took the bait before our drive, but seemed very full after we were done.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Emma and I shared a car, but Bjarki was big enough to drive his own!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Each car got 11 laps, here Adda is whizzing by.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The kids then walked over to try to feed the alligators again.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was interested but not that interested.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meh, we don’t want any more vitamins!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The admissions ‘offer’ also included arcade play.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A classic.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Half an hour later the alligators had begun sunbathing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Everybody was getting hungry, so we walked to the next door McDonald’s. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Afterwards the kids tried feeding the lazy alligators again, but nah… nothing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The drive home was full of stop-and-go traffic, as it was 6 pm, but at least the sky was pretty!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It’s hard to beat the USA when it comes to crazy.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 24 February 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Getting belted up. I was Emma’s designated ground-bound adult, but Finnur geared up with the kids.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Our climbers.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Getting a tutorial. The equipment setup was similar to other parks we’ve been to, but the lock-mechanisms were slightly different and a bit more difficult I thought.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma was just barely big enough to be able to go, but she did really well. Here she is on the tutorial-course.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The big kids were soon off, off, and away! <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Emma had two courses to choose from, the second slightly more difficult than the first.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
She mostly did really well, except when she ran into wildlife, such as a sunbathing lizard, and wayward spiders and\/or their webs.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The big kids on their third or fourth course. They had to do them sequentially for some reason, and could only do each course once.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Bjarki attempted the hardest course but didn’t quite manage to complete it. It helps to be a bit bigger for those.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Afterwards we had a late lunch at Denny’s. Emma was desperate for a fancy balloon, so we relented, just this once. We were admittedly a bit shocked by how busy the fast-food places were for Sunday lunch, as we’d tried an IHOP prior to this place, and they weren’t even taking reservations, as there were so many people waiting.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Later that afternoon, the big girls got their wish, and we made an appointment at a mani\/pedi place. When we arrived they were too busy, so we visited the next Starbucks to wait a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It’s hard to pick a color!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The girls got fake finger-nails, and the mothers got their toenails fancied. Anna got a bit unlucky though because the lady that did hers was apparently pretty new, and took foreeeever to finish, and didn’t do a great job.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
