A “sewing club” I belong to (which does no sewing, except of the social kind) went on its second weekend trip abroad this past autumn, this time to Edinburgh. (Gasp, I just realized I never posted any photos from our trip to Prague!!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We rented a really nice apartment on airbnb<\/a>, that had individual bathrooms per bedroom (a must for future excursions!) and we all had a grand time! (90-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first order of business was to go shopping for supplies. We were located downtown, so there was a shop within walking distance.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

\"\"
It was very thoroughly decorated!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We discovered the Scots really like to decorate their restrooms!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After much searching we found a cocktail bar hidden in the basement, with just a tiny sign outside the door to indicate what was there. They served good stuff!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Friday 28 September 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The morning after, at a lovely cafe<\/a> around the corner from our apartment, about to have brunch.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Very hearty!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The group! It turns out 8 is a really nice number when it comes to booking tables.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Later that morning I went out in search of a place to sit down with my computer. I walked one block to find this fancy house and…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A coffee house hidden in a basement. Edinburgh is all about basements!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I nabbed the far-table, yay!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
It was a busy place!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Drinking coffee is worth is just for the pretty foam pictures \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A few hours later I emerged.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Our door was the second from the left. The door organization was a bit weird, as our door led directly to a stairwell that went up three floors!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

\"\"
Nope, no of course not!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We had a reservation for high tea, so we began making our way to the old town.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I suspect there is a law that demands there be a bag-piper on that bridge at all times!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I think the buildings behind me contain museums, but I still haven’t gone.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

It was a hop and a skip away from the royal mile.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was a beautiful setting, and we got a great round table that fit all eight of us.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We played around with the portrait settings on our phones.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We got three rounds of trays like this one. It was very nice!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As we were leaving they were busy prepping a bridal exhibition!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 29 September 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The following morning I ventured to a vegetarian place for brunch.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was quite good!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We had ‘booked’ a free walking tour, so we hiked back to the royal mile, and found a green umbrella.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

This was a great apartment to stay in, highly recommend it!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
