[Photos taken on 26 August – 01 September 2018, posted on 16 March 2019. Finally seeing the sun mental-energy-wise after a very busy February!<\/em>] <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I traveled to Copenhagen with a colleague of mine to conduct some tests at the Marel office that’s located close to the airport. The trip lasted a week, and was generally successful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More importantly, I think I showed great restraint in only taking photos of one dinner! (55-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had decided to stay at a hotel that was one train-stop away from the main train-station.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At the main train-station, health at 90%. I’d spent the previous week sick at home with a super nasty stomach bug.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

My first room at this particular Scandic (Sydhaven) hotel looked fine, until I checked out the shower…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hang on a minute… what’s that dark stuff by the floor?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Ewwww! It turned out the shower had a small water leak, and so the whole shower stall was moldy. For the first time ever, I went down to the lobby and insisted on getting another room.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This bathroom had it’s own small issues, but I decided I’d survive a week there nonetheless.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The hotel has three wings, and linking two is a large glass structure. This is the view out the back.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The weather was very nice, so we decided to walk to a promising ramen place for dinner, but it was closed due to a private party. There were not a lot of options nearby but after some more walking…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

… we got lucky and got the last table at this tiny but very good and comically intimate restaurant. Next time we might consider getting a hotel closer to more dining options!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 27 August 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I thought this was very clever, breakfast eggs being cooked to different done-nesses via sous vide.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The breakfast\/dining area was nice, and I’m now hooked on Danish breakfast-breads.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We decided to take the train downtown to eat dinner. Copenhagen is super bike-friendly!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My colleague used to live in Copenhagen with his family. To fully use the trip, his wife flew over that day, and we all went out to dinner.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My colleague and his wife had a date-night planned, so I located a restaurant for the night, and walked on over. It was probably a 20-30 minute walk, but it was nice.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was a pretty calm day, as the people we’d been working with had to leave a day early. The biggest drama was discovering just how bruised my arm was after repeatedly thwacking it on a stainless steel contraption over the course of the week because I couldn’t be bothered to fashion a tool make my life easier. You live, you learn! (Now we have a tool!) <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
