Getting back into the rhythm of work took a bit of time and energy. School started up again, as well as music lessons and sports. Emma finally got into gymnastics at the local club after being on waiting list for over a year, and we were visited by old CA friends we hadn’t seen in over 10 years! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week before I was scheduled to go on a work-trip abroad, I got hit by a naaasty stomach bug, so that took a toll as well. (20-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late August is when you often find kids outside playing right before dinner due to the perfect weather.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Saturday 18 August 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The weather kept being lovely, so Finnur kept working on the backyard-wall.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We had some visitors over…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

…specifically my mom and my middle brother’s kid.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Later that afternoon we went to visit our friends Ragnar and Agnes. Here Finnur is chillin’ after a long day of work.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The weather was good enough for these two to jump from the hot tub to the trampoline and play for a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yet another awesome dinner!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Setting out for the half an hour drive home. A good time was had by all!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 19 August 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After the vacation, I found myself with mental energy to spare, so I decided I’d tackle the evil front room, aka The Dump. First I needed ideas for what to put in there, hence a trip to Ikea. We ended up getting a sofa like that.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Whoa! Three levels done! Only the capstones missing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
That evening, some very old friends from California stopped by for dinner! We were trying to figure out how long since we’d seen each other, and it was probably about 14 years!!!?! It was great meeting them again!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma excited to go to her first ever gymnastics class!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

She insisted on getting the proper outfit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Her group. I was glad the gym doesn’t seem to be very busy when their slot is.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I whiled away the hour her practice took by playing Pokemon Go nearby.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur had taken off with Bjarki for the summer house to do a few things, so the girls and I were on our own. We decided to visit the library downtown.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
