The first few days after returning from Colorado were intentionally left rather quiet. Finnur kept working on the back-yard wall, as well as getting one year older, the kids hung out with their friends, and uh, I visited cafes in large quantities. We did manage to visit grandparents, the library, and celebrate a birthday though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ate lunch at the Cafe Laugal\u00e6kur. They also run a hostel, so there’s always lots of foreigners there. They also have more places to plug in a laptop than the closest chain cafe!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma had made a picture for her grandma \u00c1sd\u00eds, and insisted on hand-delivering it. We happily obliged!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma always insists on a demo of the old clock chiming. Mom will have to correct me here if I’m wrong, but this clock belonged to P\u00e1l\u00edna, her paternal grandmother (and thus my great-grandmother), who was born in 1894.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 29 July 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It was Finnur’s birthday, so Anna decided to bake a cake. Emma insisted on helping.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Outside it was crazy warm!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur with his leveler. He had seemingly endless patience in making sure it was ok, and fixing what wasn’t ok.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
