We kept trying out local activities: revisited the farmer’s market just to buy another box of peaches, went to the surprisingly good indoor swimming pool in the recreation center, checked out the Longmont Museum<\/a>, and then gorged ourselves on sopapillas<\/a>, Augusto’s specialty! (45-ish images)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 21 July 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Three very warm children sucking on popsicles at the Farmer’s Market. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The farmer’s market was busy like always.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Sarah supervised the girls as they painted rocks.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I walked about fifty steps away from the market to visit a pokestop or two, and found these two guys fishing!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
In the afternoon, we visited the rec center again, this time to try out the swimming pool. Much to our surprise, it had a slide, and lazy susan river, and a jumping board into a super deep pool.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Our kids watching other kids play air-hockey.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A better view of the kiddie pool. They of course had about six lifeguards on duty, which kept blowing their whistles, which completely freaked Emma out. She didn’t understand their instructions, and was sure she was in huge trouble.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I eloped to a cafe afterwards, in a not very busy shopping mall area.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
These days, all cool cafes must have mismatched chairs and tables!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At home-base, Sarah’s parents had come over for a quick visit. They live very close by.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Yes, that’s a nerf dart up in the ceiling! The kids discovered the pipes belonging to a house-building kit, were the perfect size to pipe-gun these nerf darts.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 22 July 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The day began with a gardener stopping by with his two girls, and the four of them played in the backyard. It was a nice change from the usual skirmish, as Emma was having tremendous trouble with the language and age barrier. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Operation Assemble Ikea continued, this time with a chest of drawers for the room we were staying in in the basement.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Finnur being very close to being able to hide behind a pole!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Lunch at a Texan place!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
After lunch, we visited the Longmont Museum<\/a>, which had a huge tree-house exhibit up.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Sarah and Augusto got started on a huge game of Jenga.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Emma being an owl.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The tree area was huge!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The game starting to get a little bit exciting.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sarah and Augusto really love playing games, and before long the tower had grown very tall indeed! I think it collapsed on Sarah’s next turn.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma imprinted a leaf on a piece of paper.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The next stop was this neat water-table, where you could dam certain routes to direct water to certain spots.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
One spot was really difficult to reach, so I tried cheating by stopping the water from draining, but it turned out there was a fixed amount of water circulating. Here Bjarki is emulating my cheating ways.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Up in the observation room. There was a storm coming.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

On the way out, we passed a corner with an actual rock from the moon.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After a bit of a rest, it was time for dinner and sopapillas!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
