As we slowly adjusted to the time difference we went on slightly larger adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday 13 July 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The day began with a little water action before Augusto took off for work.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur and Sarah chatting in the newly renovated kitchen.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A little later that morning, we drove to Settler’s Park, to hike up to the red rocks at the top of this hill.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I was there!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was very hot out that day, so Sarah knew to rest in the shadows. The rest of us learnt to do that as well really fast!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

The kids weren’t really game for the heat or the insects (Emma!) so there was some drama getting to the top.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After much cajoling, we did make it to the top pass.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Emma had the roughest time, not being used to insects at all, and everything was new and scary.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Then she realized she was still alive after making it to the top, and there were rocks to climb!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Seriously kid, don’t fall down and die!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A few other kids perched up high in the shade.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
On the way down the other side, we spotted a lizard. Emma was curious.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We came down on the left side of the big rock.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Quick refueling under way in the parking lot.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur needed to visit the Google office in Boulder. We finally found it after first going to the old and closed office. It was very googly.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We hurried up to the cafeteria because lunch was about to end. The view was amazing!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

After lunch, we walked around the building, stopping to take photos here and there.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

There were a lot of weird spaces.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The arcade room was the biggest hit! Bjarki had never actually played a real pin-ball machine.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We found a weird library.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

By the busy cafe area was this trailer?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Mountain View office also had one of these k’nex Ferris wheels.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jason loves his circuits. He is very much his parents’ son! \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki, meanwhile, really loves his hot chocolate. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 14 July 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This was a designated quiet day, so we didn’t do much. We began the day by visiting the farmer’s market. These two were cute.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Water mist spraying. Bjarki was unhappy with the heat, and us not buying him everything he wanted.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The market was very busy!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Augusto with a whole box of the most delicious peaches we’ve ever tasted. All other peaches pale in comparison.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There was a band playing!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
After the market, Anna and I went shopping for clothes.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Grrr…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Walking to Whole Foods.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It didn’t disappoint!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once the heat had subsided a little bit (5 pm-ish) we took the kids back to the creek.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
