Sometime in May, we made an offer to buy a summer house, and much to our shock, it was accepted. The formal exchange was scheduled for 9 June, so until then I spent most after-work hours scouting various furniture and household stores. I hadn’t quite realized we’d essentially need to double all our stuff?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In between there were Emma pick-ups, a gymnastics show, flowers got planted, others grew, Finnur kept working on the wall, school ended, and the sun shone quite a lot. (40-ish images) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The big event was going to see the annual end-of-season gymnastics show. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Just a random picture from the show. Bjarki’s group served as background excitement in one act, but they were hard to photograph.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We went swimming along with good friends. It’s very hard not to buy ice cream afterwards, as the ice cream shop is right opposite the swimming pool!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I very rarely sit outside in tha backyard, so when I do, I often take a photo to prove that I did! Just a nice little after-work respite.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The last day of school!!!! As usual, there was a summer festival to mark the occasion.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As Anna would become a 10th grader the following school year, her class took over selling refreshments to collect money for their graduation trip. Here she is with her ‘sun’ hat.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After work I went on yet another shopping excursion, and found this amazingly expensive sofa. That’s about $30,000!!! <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

To re-calibrate my brain, I then went to the thrift store, and found the best place in town to buy crutches next time I need them! Just $10 per crutch!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At home, we found that the daffodils had finally bloomed! Yay!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
