[Photos taken on 20 – 25 April 2018, posted on 16 November 2018.\u00a0 After a few frosty days, we are back to warm weather, with lots of rain, and wind.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day after the big confirmation party, Finnur took off on a 10-day-long work-trip to the UK.\u00a0 While he was away I held down the fort the best I could, with minimally exciting dinners, and early bedtimes for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did a bunch of things though.\u00a0 For example, Bjarki participated in a gymnastics meet, we met visitors from the US, went out in the country, met with family and friends, went swimming, and did what needed to be done so that everybody was clothed and fed! (45-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday 20 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On a hunt for walking boots for Anna. Emma found a kayak instead!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Earlier in the day, the clean up continued across the road.  (It soon went on hiatus, and is just now being completed in November.)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The kids listening to a music teacher of a cousin of their’s, that had a special recital.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The music school has a gorgeous auditorium, especially compared to our school, which essentially lives in a suite of offices of varying sizes.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
After the concert, Emma went to the country with grandpa and grandma, and I took the other two out to eat sushi. Score one for easy dinners!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The sushi place is very close to Adda and Halli’s place, so of course we stopped by, and some Pandemic Legacy Season 2 got played.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 21 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Bjarki had a group-gymnastics meet in the next town over. We arrive pretty early, and I hung out while they did their warm-up, and all through the competition.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Warm-up continued for a while.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Doing a quick Fortnite dance.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The group waiting to be able to practice on the equipment.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In a crazy plot twist, the next destination for me and the older kids was a church down-town, where a choir from the US was singing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Anna and Bjarki bearing gifts from one of the choir singers and her husband. When we lived in the US, we got to know their son, who very sadly passed away shortly after moving away from Stanford. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A little later in the day, after Bjarki had gone to stay with a friend, we met up again downtown, and walked around for a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We had a nice chat in my favorite coffee house downtown, and then visited the settler’s exhibition<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

After we said our goodbyes, Anna and I went to charge the car, and eat a quick dinner before…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 22 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Finnur’s dad digging holes around the summer house.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We needed to pick Bjarki up in town, so we headed out shortly after lunch. We stopped by the other house on the way, where Einar and Steinunn were busy erecting the trampoline on the big new deck that was built the summer before.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We used the opportunity to finish Bjarki’s maths homework which was to furnish an apartment with stuff from ikea.com. Why go online, when you can do it hands-on?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 24 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
