April trudged onward with more sunlight, and the promise of spring.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gathering these images today, I only just realized what a crazy week this was, with sporty school, friends visiting, hanging out with family, Anna acting in a school play, and attending a big ball, us going to see Rocky Horror, Bjarki managing to score a big bump on his head, and the tree trimmers finally having time for us.\u00a0 (47 images total… I think!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought the last game of the day was pretty hilarious. It was basically a game of “clean up”, because the kids were tasked with throwing all the stuff on their side of the center benches over to the other side!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This is to remind myself that I fixed the washing machine by looking up the error code! \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ragnar and Agnes came for a visit, and since Agnes was participating in a walking challenge, we hiked up the hill. First stop: Buddha.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I think the brothers were playing a video game together, across countries.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 09 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The house that burned, fenced in. It would be quite a few days before owners of the stuff in the storage areas that didn’t burn (but probably got soaked) were let inside.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I tried to get Finnur to come over and have lunch with me, but he didn’t bite.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 10 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Oatmeal for breakfast. I’m so happy about being able to get oatmeal and cod liver oil for breakfast at work. Just a really great perk!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At work I was reading the book Give and Take<\/a>, in which the author warns against CEOs which like to have their face cover a WHOLE page of reports. They are not to be trusted!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At home, Anna biked off to prepare for a final run-through of the school play she was in before their showing at the annual ball.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Emma pulled her doggy eyes to get to practice biking, even though it was chilly outside.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A few minutes later.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our plants were still in stasis.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The kids did a rendition of the Breakfast Club<\/a>, and Anna was the insane teacher that puts them into detention. She ends up screaming in frustration on the floor, as her evil plan to have the kids all expelled is thwarted!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday 11 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after lunch the school called and asked me to fetch Bjarki, as he’d been in an accident which resulted in a very impressive ‘egg’ on his forehead.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
He chilled at home for a bit, before deciding he felt well enough to go to his guitar lesson. Somehow he managed to get me to buy him ice cream afterwards!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At home, Emma found the big water-squirter.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Some cousins also came over to visit, as Mr. UK was in Iceland for his school break.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The kids played outside for a little bit before happily camping out in front of the playstation…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 12 April 2018<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki’s class had a Together Time, where they performed sketches and other entertaining bits. This is the finale.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The house by work kept being torn apart, bit by bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Finnur and I went to see the Rocky Horror Show!  Happily, the Workers Association at work organizes cultural outings, and they get a nice group discount while they’re at it.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
It was a lot of fun!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Shortly after we got back home, Anna returned from her annual ball. Apparently the play she was in went down well.  Taking a photo of her proved tricky, as the light did not want to cooperate!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We’ve splurged money on tree & shrubbery trimming every two years. This year they came on a Saturday, which was unusual.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This year I finally coughed up the courage to ask them to remove two plants with evil thorns from the backyard. I’m so happy that their gone!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
