[Photos taken on 28-31 March, posted on 14 October 2018.\u00a0 My cold is slowly getting better.\u00a0 Also, now I’m hooked on The Good Place, and excited for Doctor Who again.\u00a0 Been a long time since I’ve been emotionally invested in TV-land.<\/em>]<\/p>\n

The very end of March coincided with the beginning of the long Easter holiday, where Thursday-Monday are all public days off.<\/p>\n

Smartly, people use those days for celebrations, and general outings, and this year was no exception.\u00a0 We went to a birthday party, a confirmation party, and drove to Laugarvatn to stay at Finnur’s parents’ summer house with friends.\u00a0 All in all a very good use of days! Wednesday 28 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was my view an hour earlier, as I worked out at a gym, since I now have no excuses left not to.<\/p><\/div>\n

After work, we headed to Finnur’s sister’s place to celebrate a birthday!<\/p><\/div>\n

Thursday 29 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

This gorgeous Thursday I took the girls to celebrate the confirmation of the son of some friends of ours.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Speech-time!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Emma by the guest book.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

At one point I started wondering where the kids had disappeared to. It turned out they’d found a grassy hill, that they were rolling down!!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

My friend is a master organizer, so she managed to book the church festive hall, which is no small feat!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Trying to get Emma to put her coat on.\u00a0 It wasn’t exactly “warm” outside.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I wasn’t kidding about the whole rolling down a hill part!<\/p><\/div>\n

Not wanting to hear the “we’re going home now” words.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sisters horsing around. I think Bjarki and Finnur were home due to Bjarki not feeling well.<\/p><\/div>\n

After going home and packing for a trip, we stopped and got our customary summer house departure dinner sandwich, and then drove eastwards.<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 30 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

We visited the Fontana hot tub collection, and this time I finally remembered to go up on the roof to take photos once we were done.\u00a0 The steams is coming from a house where they harness the warmth flowing up from the ground<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The kids like going into the water from that bridge, even though it’s veeery cold!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Some more hot tubs.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

In the other direction is the mountain that looms over Laugarvatn, and an impatient Bjarki.<\/p><\/div>\n

Back down again. The architecture is all pretty brutal.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

At the summer house, dinner got prepared.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The kids got to eat first!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Finnur’s dad had bought an inflatable hot tub, which got put to the test. It took a very long time to warm up, but the manly men decided it was warm enough to use around midnight.<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 31 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anna totally awake!<\/p><\/div>\n

The hot tub heating element wasn’t quite strong enough to counter the outside chill, so the kids had to make sure to cover the surface of the water.<\/p><\/div>\n

Soon it was time to pack up, with Easter proper happening the day after.<\/p><\/div>\n

We were hungry, so stopped by the restaurant at Laugarvatn for some food. I took the kids out while we waited for the food to arrive, as their hunger was making them very impatient.<\/p><\/div>\n
