The third and last of my Canada work-trips this winter began on our wedding anniversary.\u00a0 Very romantic… not!<\/p>\n

This time I flew through Vancouver both ways, only stopping for a few hours on the way there, but spending almost 24 hours on the way back.\u00a0 Here are photos from the trip there, and my stay in Spruce Grove, which was mostly comprised of work, eating, and a few walks. (36 images total)<\/p>\n

Saturday 03 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pre-departure stuck-in-traffic car-selfie. I took the kids on a super-quick library run, before my airport-taxi pickup at 2 pm.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

At the airport.\u00a0 I managed to not forget my wallet this time.<\/p><\/div>\n

Our Vancouver-bound airplane, was named Gr\u00edmsv\u00f6tn.<\/p><\/div>\n

Flying over Greenland. The mountains always feel so weirdly close.<\/p><\/div>\n

It is strangely difficult to take photos with level horizons from airplane windows.<\/p><\/div>\n

We had a very early morning flight out the following morning, so we stayed at an airport hotel. It was perfectly fine.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The hotel was by a busy road, and a residential area, so we we had no option but to eat at the hotel restaurant. Thankfully, it wasn’t awful.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 04 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

The hotel carpet at 04:37 in the morning. Happily that was late in the morning, Iceland time.<\/p><\/div>\n

Waiting in the lobby for the rest of my group to arrive.<\/p><\/div>\n

Back at the airport, and looking at more totem poles.<\/p><\/div>\n

Breakfast was at such an exotic place! Not.<\/p><\/div>\n

Our plane drove past the parked Icelandair plane we’d arrived in the day before!<\/p><\/div>\n

We made it to our regular hotel in Spruce Grove, and this was my room.<\/p><\/div>\n

Wednesday 07 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

Found a fun piece of art next door to our hotel on an evening walk. It’s now an Ingress portal!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That evening, for some reason, there was a snowplow clearing an athletic field of some sort?!?!<\/p><\/div>\n

Thursday 08 March 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

On our way to lunch I realized our rental car had a sunroof! Oh, and we were in Canada apparently.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That evening, the snowplow was back clearing the american football field…!?!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I found a surprisingly densely populated playground.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

My walk took me past a few residential houses. Some had their shoes out even though it was super freezing, so I logically assumed the inhabitants were Chinese.<\/p><\/div>\n
