After a late lunch, my colleagues showed me the outdoors skating circle, that circles a small park.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Wednesday 24 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

Looking out of the window from a lunch time restaurant which had obviously changed both owners and style since I last visited.<\/p><\/div>\n

Since work trips are just sleep work-eat-sleep cycles, almost all the photos are of food!<\/p><\/div>\n

Interesting list, but beer’s not an option for lunch!<\/p><\/div>\n

As we’d ONLY eaten at Boston Pizza on my previous trip, I was more than ready to explore all the other restaurants in town. This sushi place turned out to be awesome!<\/p><\/div>\n

Thursday 25 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

About to go eat lunch, but couldn’t resist a selfie in front of the local hockey rink.<\/p><\/div>\n

Pretty good sandwich, all gone!\u00a0 This is Perks Coffee I think.<\/p><\/div>\n

That night it started snowing.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

First time I experience snow in this area.<\/p><\/div>\n

Too lazy to drive anywhere for dinner. Tsk, tsk.<\/p><\/div>\n

The snow was super dry, almost crystalline in nature.<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 26 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The view at 07:15 am. I’d feared there’d be more snow, but this was ok to drive in.\u00a0 The biggest problem was that they scraped the streets as much as they could, leaving solid smooth ice in some places.\u00a0 Driving was a little exciting at times!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The remnants of a classic hotel breakfast.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This was my first solo morning, as coworkers had left the day before, and new ones were arriving on this day. So I stopped by Starbucks for some liquid sugar.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The cargo trains that run through the town are incredibly long!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This was also the trip’s first trip to McDonald’s for lunch.<\/p><\/div>\n

My newly arrived coworkers. Kinda reminded me of a cavalry!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Dinner that night was at an Indian place. We all ended up ordering our own rice, and ended up with mountains and mountains of rice. It was pretty funny at the time!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 27 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Setting up the office for the day.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The view out of the office window as the sun crept upwards.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Not sure why I took a photo out of my hotel window at noon, but it was still white outside.\u00a0 All the houses on the left have appeared in the past couple of years or so.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

My quick Pokemon\/Ingress walk that evening led me to a playground that was super colorful, and full of different things.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Meanwhile in Iceland, kids were cute. When I travel, I try not to call home very often, as it mostly just causes drama of some sort. Oh well…<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sunday 28 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

One of the guys went to the website and printed out a copy of this to hang up in our own office!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

My steel-toed footware, I really like these!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The lunch-place we chose had a Sunday brunch going, where people could build their own dessert with the help of the chef!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That night I needed to do laundry, so while the machine at the hotel was running, I drove over to a neighboring town and visited a few new Ingress stops. The Multicultural Center<\/a> had a few.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Proof it was me, and that I’d bought a new hat!<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Monday 29 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The impressive frost on the window (the two lights are from the opposite building), as I was descending for breakfast at 7 am.<\/p><\/div>\n

Wednesday 31 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

About to have my last Canadian breakfast for a while, as that was the day I flew back home, via a layover in Toronto.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Time to get out of the area! The outside temperature was -23C \/ -9F!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I was very proud of myself for remembering to fill the rental before returning it.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Back on Air Canada… The flight was delayed by almost two hours, which meant that I would have missed the immediate connecting flight in Toronto.\u00a0 Happy that I didn’t even try!<\/p><\/div>\n

Goodbye snowy flatness!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Toronto looked very different, some three hours later.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

After a train-ride from the airport to downtown, Snapchat really came through with a nice Toronto logo! I also did not make it to that observation tower…<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The hotel was close to the main train station. The room was small, but had everything that I needed.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The hotel was right next to the Hockey Hall of Fame, which was enclosed in this fancy dome-ish structure.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

One end of the dome had a nice restaurant, which was of the food-square variety.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

As it was 9:30 pm, there weren’t a lot of people there, but the food was good!<\/p><\/div>\n
