Photo of the smog still sitting on top of Reykjavik (that grayness by the bottom of the mountain) after the massive fireworks the evening before. Yes, I ventured to the only open coffee house I knew of to work on photos. I thought it was a good way to start the new year!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

That afternoon we made our way to Halli and Adda’s, where the table was decked for a New Year’s Feast!<\/p><\/div>\n

Anna went to the hair salon, and had her hair cut quite a bit!<\/p><\/div>\n

After work on Friday, we spent a fantastic evening with my sewing club ladies and their spouses. We ate good food, games were played, and general merriment ruled!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 06 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

The festivities continued the next day, with a party with Finnur’s dad’s foster family. This was the last day to shoot up fireworks, so Finnur took the kids outside for a bit.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 07 January 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

We made good on our cousin date (on my side), as these kids don’t get together very often.<\/p><\/div>\n

The highlight was the formal breaking and devouring of the ginger bread houses.<\/p><\/div>\n

Still almost a house.<\/p><\/div>\n

Soon, this was all that was left.<\/p><\/div>\n

I can’t remember who sent me this snap, but I found it pretty darn funny. The book text says “The crown-petals of the orange daisies look like the flames of fire”, and the comment is “So easy to make this connection when you’re seven years old.”<\/p><\/div>\n
