At a cafe at the airport, having gone through security with an obscene amount of hand-luggage. JetBlue flies out of the International Terminal at San Francisco, so the food was a wee-bit more upscale than what is usually available at the domestic terminal, but I must stress the 'wee'.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n
<\/a>World Cup! World Cup! World Cup! Did I mention it is World Cup time? This must mean Finnur and I have 'been together' for 4n years, where n is an integer (currently n=4).<\/p><\/div>\n
<\/a>Our flight was delayed by about 40 minutes. To pass the time, Finnur followed Bjarki up and down the escalators, again, and again, and again, and again...<\/p><\/div>\n
The flight was uneventful. \u00a0Finnur and Bjarki sat behind me and Anna so Finnur didn’t have to worry about Bjarki kicking the seat in front of him or playing with the tray-table (this always stresses me out to no end). \u00a0They managed to fall asleep for a couple of hours, but Anna watched a fair bit of television (my screen was broken) in between a bit of arts and crafts and reading.<\/p>\n
When we landed in New York we took a taxi to Manhattan, threw our bags into our room and headed out to dinner next door at a really nice Thai place<\/a> (it is possible that we were just really hungry, but that was the best chicken satay I’ve had in recent memory). \u00a0Then it was time for bed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Departure day. \u00a0We woke up around 6am, ran around a little like headless chicken, but somehow managed to pack the car and be at the airport well before the departure of our flight. \u00a0Embarrassingly, we didn’t get a family photo of our gracious hosts, Sarah and Augusto, mostly because of the headless-chicken thing. \u00a0Jason woke up just in time for our departure so we got to wave him and his cheeky grin goodbye. \u00a0 Yes, sniffles. \u00a0Bucket-loads of sniffles.<\/p>\n
