After we had said our goodbyes, Finnur took the kids to home-base while I ran some last minute errands, such as saying goodbye to the people in Packard and going to the bank. \u00a0Finnur ran his own errands later in the day, and the evening was spent figuring out how to pack all of our stuff into the bags we had while not exceeding 50 lbs on any of them. \u00a0This task was made a wee bit more difficult than usual by the fact that we had to pack everything, and we’d accumulated quite a bit of stuff in the days since the container left. \u00a0After a considerable amount of head scratching (did you know the Wii Fit board works as a scale?) we got everything packed and were in bed before midnight (which, by the way, was a clear violation of the Hrefna-goes-to-bed-at-2-am-whenever-there-is-packing-to-be-done rule).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
On the last day before our departure we settled our affairs with our landlord, and then paid a last visit to Bjarki’s daycare. \u00a0We visited the various classrooms to say goodbye to Anna’s old teachers as well as Bjarki’s old teachers. \u00a0When it was time to visit his current classroom, we discovered that all the kids had gone outside to bike so Bjarki biked too while we chatted a bit. \u00a0Then it was time for final hugs.<\/p>\n
