I had barely returned from my work-trip to Northern-Ireland when Finnur took off for Japan and California for work. Here are photos from life which still went on, somehow. (71 images total)<\/p>\n

Wednesday 13 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Me in downtown Reykjavik, at 18:51. The days had started to get shorter.\u00a0 I vaguely remember being downtown to eat dinner with some work-related visitors from abroad.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Thursday 14 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

I apparently went out for dinner, the second evening in a row, and was impressed by the great selection of items in the restroom for people in need.<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 15 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

At work, decorators showed up to decorate the place for a fancy party being held that evening in conjunction with a big seafood exhibition. It’s not usually quite so festive there.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bjarki rejoined gymnastics, choosing the “group” side, which is all about trampolines!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 16 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

That day, Finnur traveled to Japan via Helsinki for a work meet-up. He stayed in Japan for a week, and then flew to California where he also spent a week.<\/p><\/div>\n

I took the kids swimming at our really great local swimming pool.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Next stop: The local ice cream store.<\/p><\/div>\n

I took the big kids to the archery range.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 24 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

I attended a party near our house on Saturday night, and left the car there. Thus I hiked on over the morning after to fetch the car.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Walking along the newly-completed path that connects our town to the next.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The new path links up to this “v” up front.\u00a0 \u00a0The ground used to be a lot higher there.\u00a0 The old “path” was much further to the right, so one had to walk down a very narrow steep path to join the right side of the “v”.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Tunnels are amazing!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I then drove on down to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for a bit of me-time.<\/p><\/div>\n

I often go to the Nor\u00f0urbakki cafe these days.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Emma returned from her grandparents’ summer house, and thus Sunday ended.<\/p><\/div>\n

Monday 25 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

I attended a lecture on iPad issues, as the town we live in issues iPad to all kids in 5th grade and up (!!!)<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We managed to chat to Finnur , who was in California, a bit post-dinner.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tuesday 26 September 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emma drew this image to protest something Anna did the night before.<\/p><\/div>\n

Emma was not ready to hurry to daycare. She insisted on folding all her tops first.<\/p><\/div>\n
