We began the day at a park close to where we were staying (Sarah and Augusto's house). We gathered there with the families of the local Icelandic 'sewing club' members for a potluck brunch.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n
<\/a>The brand new Sunneva Lukka. Only eight days old! Not surprisingly, she snoozed through almost the entire thing. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n
<\/a>Svava Mar\u00eda helps herself to some yummies, which mostly consisted of fruit because the weather was, again, very warm.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>Mario and Finnur. The playground was a little ways away (behind Mario's arm), but we guarded the exit of the park so no kid could wander out.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>We all napped when we got home (except Anna, she-who-loves-to-watch-Kipper-the-dog-on-mommie's-computer-while-mommy-naps). Afterwards we took this picture of the kids for the teachers at daycare.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>After nap, we all went to Katie and Dirk's to splash around in their pool, which was great because this was yet another very warm day. After the pool splashing we had a lovely dinner, all of which had been consumed when this picture was taken!<\/p><\/div>\n

Anybody spot a theme for our last few days in California? \u00a0Yes, goodbyes. \u00a0Nothing but agonizing goodbyes. \u00a0It’s good to know though that we’re almost certain to meet some of the Icelanders again in Iceland (since all vacations of Icelanders living abroad must involve visiting Iceland) and these days a lot of our non-Icelandic CA friends live on Facebook or in IM-land. \u00a0I’m sure departures like these were more abrupt in the ‘olden days’, but still, sniffles.<\/p>\n
