[Photos taken on Tuesday 11 July 2017, posted online on 11 November 2017.\u00a0 Second proper snow-day of this winter in Iceland today.<\/em>]<\/p>\n

The weather forecast for this day wasn’t very appealing, so we opted to just drive to a nearby town, walk around for a bit, stop at an old abbey, and then pretty much just drive back home!<\/p>\n

At Paimpol. They have a large harbor.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

The plan of the day. It included using positive words, as Bjarki’s mini-meltdown at the zoo the day before had left everybody annoyed.<\/p><\/div>\n

I may have neglected to mention that \u00d3li’s mom was also traveling with them.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bjarki had excitedly used some of his birthday money to buy this Snorlax Pokemon plushy. I was tasked with walking around with him, positioned so that he could see out of the bag.<\/p><\/div>\n

There was a carousel by the edge of the water. The kids asked to go on, and we said yes, because that’s what you do on vacations, right?<\/p><\/div>\n

Walking into town, looking for a place to eat.\u00a0 The restaurant we were aiming for, closed literally on our noses (!), so we ended up at a random place that looked open.<\/p><\/div>\n

We ended up in a pancake place (crepes) called L’Islandaise Restaurant<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n

Emma got put in charge of the camera so we could have a moment of peace and quiet to read the menus.<\/p><\/div>\n

After eating, the kids ran across the street, where the carousel was located.<\/p><\/div>\n

Right before boarding the car again, the kids got an extra snack, because those pancakes didn’t really have a lot of nutrition in them.<\/p><\/div>\n

We decided to visit the #1 attraction on trip-advisors’ list in the near area<\/a>…<\/p><\/div>\n

We discovered we’d have to pay an entrance fee to look at the inside. Nobody really wanted to drag six kids through an old house, so we just walked around the gardens for a bit.<\/p><\/div>\n

Goodbye Abbay. Well, maybe. I think Emma forgot something. Let’s chase her so she won’t get lost… Ah, she wanted to drop this pebble into the well… Ok then…<\/p><\/div>\n
