The first half of April included Hrefna (me) taking lots of walks, P\u00e9tur and Fannar visiting, seeing a rock opera<\/a>, visiting Finnur’s parents’ summer house, and going swimming, while trying not to freak out about organizing the upcoming confirmation party for Anna. (55 images total )<\/p>\n

Tuesday 04 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

P\u00e9tur and Fannar came over for dinner and a soak. Fannar turned out to have a small infection by one of his fingernails. so we tried to protect it with a plastic bag. Aaaalmost succeeded!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Thursday 06 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

I eloped downtown after work for a little peace and quiet. This is S\u00f3lfari\u00f0, which is usually surrounded by tourists these days.<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 07 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet another lunch-break walk. My office sits right next to an old lava-field!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 08 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

The plan for this Saturday.<\/p><\/div>\n

I was feeling antsy those days, and ended up on the third walk in three days.<\/p><\/div>\n

I’d never been there before, but it’s very close to our place.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I took Anna out to look at party decorations for her confirmation party. Returned home with a BBQ (not that one) because ours was dead.<\/p><\/div>\n

Next up was driving big kids to the ice skating hall, and taking Emma (and Arnar) to the next-door farm-animal park. Hello there Mr. Seal.<\/p><\/div>\n

The piglets were cute.<\/p><\/div>\n

Customary pit-stop at the cafeteria. If only the food there were better…. sigh.<\/p><\/div>\n

The ice-skating rink closed at 4 pm that day due to a meet, but getting Emma to hurry out of the non-moving carousel proved difficult. The ice-skaters weren’t thrilled by how long it took us to exit.<\/p><\/div>\n

Finnur accurately pointed out that the insides of “my” car were in dire need of cleaning, so that’s what I did that Sunday.<\/p><\/div>\n

P\u00e9tur and Fannar came for dinner again. Minecraft was played.<\/p><\/div>\n

Wednesday 12 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday before Easter Day. The schools were on holiday, so a fair number of kids hung out in the newly renovated kiddie-corner at work. Yes, that’s a climbing wall!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I went out for a super-short walk in the lovely weather.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

After work, I found myself at a cafe in downtown Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, attempting to work on this blog of mine. As has been happening a LOT lately, the computer began updating when I tried to shut it down and leave in a hurry. Yes, it’s now so old that I prefer shutting it down and starting fresh, because otherwise it has a tendency to slow to a crawl.<\/p><\/div>\n

Thursday 13 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This was a weird day. It was a public holiday (first of five in a row for Easter), and I had tickets to see Jesus Christ Superstar<\/a> that evening with two friends. Somehow, I managed to convince Finnur it would be an excellent idea for him to take the kids to his parents’ summer cottage, and that I would drive there after the show. They left around noon, and I tried to fix my karma by cleaning\/tidying the house for a couple of hours. Then it was off to work on the blog downtown, and then meet the girls for dinner, and a show! These are the stairs of Harpa.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Adda the Instigator (and JCS superfan) and me.<\/p><\/div>\n

Krist\u00edn also came along!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

It was a great show! But I found it funny how there’s literally a blue Smurfette in the cast<\/a> (with dark hair though).<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to the top floor to see if we could buy desserts, but it was closed.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We chatted for a bit before splitting up, and I drove to the summer house.<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 14 April 2017 (Good Friday)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Modern day kids, while out by nature.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Granted, nature didn’t look very inviting.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Bjarki’s hiding by Anna’s feet.<\/p><\/div>\n

Is this good or bad?<\/p><\/div>\n

I managed to convince the girls to join me outside, while Bjarki went over to the other house (where Steinunn was) to get a break from his overbearing parents.<\/p><\/div>\n

Meanwhile, I finished reading this.<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 15 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Breakfast with grandma and grandpa.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Bears are for hugging.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Anna, and the most excellent collection of things up on the wall.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Since we were on two cars, we made our collective lives easier by splitting the kids up on the way back. I took Emma, while Finnur took Bjarki and Anna on a Pokemon\/Ingress long-way-around trip home.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Emma had a blast throwing rocks into \u00deingvallavatn for a long while. Yay, nature!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Later that afternoon, we joined two of my brothers in the West End swimming pool.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Afterwards we visited the lactose-free cafe\/ice cream shop out on Seltjarnarnes. The stuff they had was excellent!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I think this used to be a flower shop?!<\/p><\/div>\n
