Friday 03 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Anna’s Orthodontic Adventure continues, and is apparently going well.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Saturday 04 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This was one of those super busy days. I started off driving Bjarki to the west end of town for a choir practice before an upcoming\u00a0concert.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The practice was a hour long, during which I roamed around my old University stomping grounds, and played Ingress. It was a beautiful day.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

After the practice, I took Bjarki to Gl\u00f3 to eat lunch.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

After a short pit-stop at home, I went down-town and spent an hour at a cafe to charge my batteries. At 4 pm I walked two houses over to attend Eyr\u00fan’s 50 birthday party. I took a bunch of photos, they are here<\/a><\/strong>! (Eyr\u00fan is Finnur’s oldest sister.)<\/p><\/div>\n

At 5 pm I went home to change into fancier clothes for the annual work-prom (\u00e1rsh\u00e1t\u00ed\u00f0 Marel).<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Walking from the parking lot to the location of the pre-party (house up ahead on the left).<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We arrived just in time to catch the very end of the pre-party (18:30).<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Then it was on to the party proper, which was housed in a big gymnasium. It was a hoot!<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 05 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Anna wanted to go ice skating, so I took the girls to Laugardalur.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

While Anna skated, Emma and I went to the house animal park next door. It is customary to stop at the shop there and buy something unhealthy.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Emma was bummed she couldn’t ride the horses, but rode a big snow-pile instead.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Monday 06 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Snow still crawling off of the roof after the big snowpalooza<\/a>!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

On the last book of Harry Potter.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tuesday 07 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I’ve taken to eating breakfast at work every day after they started offering oatmeal every day. \u00a0On Tuesdays and Thursdays they also offer smoothies!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I was a little low on energy in the afternoon and procrastinated forever on actually entering the grocery store. This happened instead.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wednesday 8 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That evening I took Anna to a special pre-screening of Hidden Figures. Leading up to it was a campaign to tell people that all jobs were women’s jobs (kvennastarf), also the typically male ones.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Saturday 11 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We went out to dinner with Gu\u00f0r\u00fan and Snorri in honor of Gu\u00f0r\u00fan’s and mine’s birthdays.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The food at Matarkjallarinn<\/a> was quite excellent!<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 12 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Emma making oatmeal.<\/p><\/div>\n

Exciting stuff!<\/p><\/div>\n

Later that day I dropped Emma off to play with her cousins and visited a new cafe for an hour of peace and quiet.<\/p><\/div>\n

Tuesday 14 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Bjarki requested a photo off his two temporary tattoos.<\/p><\/div>\n

Thursday 16 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This has happened repeatedly as of late just when I’m trying to pack up quickly and hurry home.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That evening Finnur and I went to a seminar on nag-free parenting. It was interesting!<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 17 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I took Bjarki to the eye-doctor at lunchtime. She gave him a clean bill of health, except she predicts his eye-sigh will never be very sharp, and he still lacks 3D vision.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Later that afternoon I took Anna dress shopping for her upcoming civilian confirmation.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This dress was one of those weird dresses that looks a lot better in real life than on photos.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That evening, the kids had a cuddle session on the couch.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Saturday 18 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The dress hunting continued. This one came with the comment “I don’t care if I use it at my confirmation, it’s so comfortable, I want it!”<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Ah, now we’re getting somewhere!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Yet another cafe, this is Kru\u00f0er\u00ed Kaffit\u00e1rs, where we ended up buying a cake and macaroons for the big party.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Not the most comfortable chairs, but they sell good stuff.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I met up with Finnur, Bjarki, and Emma at an open programming tutorial. Bjarki wasn’t very interested in programming, he was more interested in playing the games on the raspberry pi.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Sadly, the cafe at Ger\u00f0uberg is of the rather tragic sort.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The day ended with some much enjoyed hot-tubbing in the snow.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Bjarki, marked by a rope he slid down too fast at gymnastics.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 19 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

At a theater showing of Fjarskaland (Far Away Land) with a lot of coworkers and their kids.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Emma’s first time at the theater.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Thankfully we were really high up, so it all looked very small and cute to her.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Most important of all: Intermission candy.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

After the show.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Anna complaining on Snapchat that I walk slow!!<\/p><\/div>\n

Afterwards we stopped by the big party room at my grandmother’s place, to start organizing the civil confirmation party.<\/p><\/div>\n

Tuesday 21 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sun’s up at 07:30, spring must be around the corner!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I went to the skin-light place for a few weeks to light up my scalp. Ended up trying this hairdo afterwards one time.<\/p><\/div>\n

Thursday 23 March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emma being asked about her dad. Q: How old is your dad? A: 5 years. Q: What’s your dad best at doing? A: Painting. Q: What do you and dad to together? A: We play. Q: Where does daddy work? A: At work. Q: What makes dad happy? A: When I’m not bad with him. Q: What makes your dad sad? A: When I’m bad with him.<\/p><\/div>\n

One of daycare’s mission is to get the kids to write their names. Emma!<\/p><\/div>\n

That afternoon Bjarki sang with the older school choir for their parents.<\/p><\/div>\n
