Adda is the opposite of me when it comes to traveling, as she likes to have things planned out in advance, whereas I usually don’t start planning until I’ve already arrived. \u00a0Thus the trip was mostly planned out before we arrived, with breakfast and evening restaurants spotted\/booked, so there was no time wasted! (42 images total)<\/p>\n

I was there! This is at the entrance to Princes Street, the main shopping street.<\/p><\/div>\n

Oh, look, a castle! Must have been a crazy construction project!<\/p><\/div>\n

Adda and I now share a humongous shoe-size, commonly known as “Special Order”, aka 43. She’d cleverly ordered shoes for both of us to try on beforehand, because she is organized like that. \u00a0This is not that shoe store, but one that tried to pass 42 off as 43.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

At the far end of the garden that stretches along the castle-hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Up the stairs, and hey, a selfie-stick!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

By the royal incorporation of crazy plant-locators.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Trying to photograph the strange split: A luscious low-lying garden with a castle on top, next to a busy shopping street.<\/p><\/div>\n

We resisted.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We managed to agree on a lunch location, where I was handed the tiniest bottle of sparkling water, ever!<\/p><\/div>\n

Still happy!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

So. Much. Food!!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I just couldn’t get over that castle perched up on that hill!<\/p><\/div>\n

A fancy chocolate store. I manged to buy nothing.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

“Salted Caramel Cocoa Vodka”. Whaaaat?<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Hey, look, it’s an improbable castle!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Most tourists would have walked to the castle hill, but we went the opposite way because Adda was on a music-instrument-buying-mission!<\/p><\/div>\n

I may have neglected to mention that we did indeed do a bit of shopping, and poor Halli ended up lugging most of it behind him.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

It was aptly named too. We somehow managed to walk out with a bright yellow ukulele though!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Adda’s errand ended up taking a bit of time, so we hung out there for a bit.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

This was the trip I (finally) succumbed to playing Pokemon Go, while Finnur and Halli stayed mostly in Ingress-land. Oh, AR!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We were all getting quite tired, so we took a taxi back to the hotel, to rest up a bit before dinner.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

It was an apartment hotel<\/a> with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and kitchen.<\/p><\/div>\n

The mostly unused kitchen.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The view out the back, into very different looking backyard-parcels.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Interesting shapes!<\/p><\/div>\n

… and of course, the bathroom. You can tell a lot about a hotel by the bathroom, yes?<\/p><\/div>\n

In the evening, we went to an African (inspired?) steakhouse<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n

This happened!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Afterwards, we let TripAdvisor guide us to a cocktail ba<\/a>r, which lived up to its reputation!<\/p><\/div>\n

Diligently documenting the drinks!<\/p><\/div>\n

We didn’t stay out too long, because why spend your vacation in bed?!<\/p>\n

(Now, having experienced a mostly-planned trip, I now think I secretly wish someone else would do all the planning, and thus leave it until the last possible moment? \u00a0Perhaps Adda should come with us on all our trips?!
