As I mentioned in my last post<\/a>, Finnur’s now the brother of a grandmother! \u00a0Yup, Eyr\u00fan’s older daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby girl earlier this year, much to everybody’s joy.<\/p>\n

It took the parents a while to settle on a name, but they got there in the end, and invited everybody to a naming party. \u00a0I took a ton of photos, you can see them here<\/a>. \u00a0(Below are 26 of them.)<\/p>\n

Nobody knew the name except the parents, and even the big cake gave no hints. The text just said “Naming Party”.<\/p><\/div>\n

The parents announcing how’d the reveal would work: Earlier they’d had people draw cards with names on them. Now every one with a card needed to stand up, and then sit down as the name one their card was called, as it was not the correct name. The last person(s) standing would have the name.<\/p><\/div>\n

A lot of people still standing!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Only<\/a>

Only a few left standing…<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Once<\/a>

At the end only two were left standing, the dad’s mom, and the mom’s dad. \u00a0The dad asked his mom which name she had: “Hallger\u00f0ur” was the answer.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The dad then turned to his father-in-law and asked him what name he had. “Katr\u00edn,” the name of his own late mother, was the answer. \u00a0 And thus it was revealed: Hallger\u00f0ur Katr\u00edn, and tears and joy swept the room.<\/p><\/div>\n

And then the feast could begin.<\/p><\/div>\n
