This summer we were looking for a change of scenery for the entire family, where it wasn’t too hot, and the flight-time reasonable. \u00a0Since I’d never been to Sweden, Stockholm it was!<\/p>\n

We rented a house on airbnb that looked kid-friendly, which it was. \u00a0The only drawback was that I hadn’t realized that pretty much all the things-to-to were located on the far side of Stockholm, so we ended up driving the same road-with-a-thousand-round-abouts So. Many. Times.<\/p>\n

Still, we had a lovely time, and just returned yesterday after hanging out there for ten days. \u00a0 I guess now it’s time to blog! (10 images total)<\/p>\n

Our flight departed at 07:35 in the morning, which meant we had to be up ridiculously early. Grrrr, I hate morning flights!!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Our poor airport used to be big and spacious, but then tourists decided Iceland would be a fun place to visit, and now it’s so overcrowded that all the extra building efforts are too little, too late, and there isn’t nearly enough seating for all. \u00a0Finnur couldn’t take the crowd and bad air quality by the gate, so he backtracked, and waited upstairs until it was time to board the bus to the plane.<\/p><\/div>\n

Goodbye mostly barren-of-trees Iceland!<\/p><\/div>\n

Hello green tree-y Sweden!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Waiting<\/a>

Waiting for the bus to take us to the rental car area. Bjarki was pretty tense, and had trouble staying still.<\/p><\/div>\n

We rented this pink house on airbnb<\/a>. It’s in a quiet cluster of houses, with lots of little play spaces like this one located here and there. \u00a0There was a road past the house, but people only drove there\u00a0if they had\u00a0something in their cars that they needed to drop off before parking below, which was surprisingly rare. \u00a0Very nasty speed-bumps meant that the cars all drove very slowly. \u00a0Bottom line: Safe for kids!<\/p><\/div>\n

Bjarki was so full of nervous energy that I decided to take him on a long walk to explore the area<\/a>. Here’s a play-castle we found at a nearby daycare.<\/p><\/div>\n

We made it all the way to the water. I was a little anxious to get back before dark, or we would have stopped and enjoyed it for a bit longer. Regrets, regrets…<\/p><\/div>\n
