My brother Bjarni has been a fitness enthusiast for a very long time, and even won a fitness title this winter<\/a>. \u00a0Last year he decided this is a field he wants to build a professional career in, so he enrolled in the\u00a0Nordic Personal Trainer Certification<\/a>\u00a0program at Keilir’s Health Academy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yesterday he graduated with flying colors, after working hard all winter. \u00a0We threw a small party to celebrate, just with the closest of family, as Finnur was still jetlagged, and I was still recovering from being sick. \u00a0He then took off for a more party-like party with his buddies.<\/p>\n

The graduation ceremony was held in the Andrews Theater that used to belong to the US Naval Base in Keflavik.<\/p><\/div>\n

View from our seats. Unfortunately, the lights on the stage were very hostile to photo-taking. Not only did the person giving out the certificates stand essentially behind the podium, but they also stood in a shadow!<\/p><\/div>\n

He’s probably a good director, but the speech could have used a little work.<\/p><\/div>\n

Up on the stage before the rest of the group filed in and shadowed him. Kind of strange they didn’t have steps to stand on.<\/p><\/div>\n

The best speech of the afternoon, no question. Keilir runs a “university bridge” program, for people who dropped out of secondary school for one reason or another, but now want to attend university. It’s basically a program that gets people up to speed, and gives them access to the university\/further education once they’re done. This cool fun cat shone bright as she recounted some past missteps, but also a future that’s now within grasp.<\/p><\/div>\n
