As always, I’m conflicted on whether to post old or new stuff, and tonight old stuff wins out. \u00a0I find it remarkable how I manage to always lose the plot on this blogging thing!<\/p>\n

Anyway! \u00a0Here we have The First Day of Summer (which is a national holiday, always on a Thursday, go figure) which we marked by opening up, cleaning, and filling the hot tub for the first time this year (I think?). \u00a0Meanwhile, gardening work commenced, and continued into the next day. \u00a0Saturday saw us visiting good friends, and walking to a beach and back. \u00a0We saw a spider weave her web, and I completed a stubborn jigsaw. (24 images total)<\/p>\n

First Day of Summer – Thursday 21 April 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

\"Too<\/a>

Too busy not boiling to smile for the camera.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Big<\/a>

Big sister makes an appearance.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The most terrifying things lurking in our\u00a0grass, and on the patio. The hired crew of gardeners had been by a few days earlier, and they always leave a few of these lying\u00a0behind.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Bjarki's<\/a>

Bjarki’s friend from school came over to try out the hot tub.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Anna<\/a>

Anna also had a friend over, but they absolutely refused to enter the hot tub with the boys in there! \u00a0They boys also took great pleasure in trying to squirt them with water, as they do.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Danger!\"<\/a>

Danger!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Meanwhile,<\/a>

Meanwhile, Finnur was going all out with the high-pressure washer, washing the green grime off of the fences. I’m hoping we manage to stain them sooner rather than later this summer. No more late-night August stainings, please!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"A<\/a>

A trimmed rose. Little did we realize at the time of this photo, but it had apparently started spreading its roots a few years ago, making it look very bulky, and not flowering much at all. \u00a0It’s now a lot skinnier.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"After<\/a>

After the boys skedaddled, the big girls went in the hot tub. Emma ended up stewing there the entire time, and emerged quite tired.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Adda<\/a>

Adda and Halli showed up for an impromptu dinner. Impromptu suits us well!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Halli<\/a>

Halli making his special potatoes.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The hot tub got a tiny big more usage that day, with Finnur resting tired muscles, after cleaning woodwork the whole day. \u00a0Dinner was awesome as always. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

Friday 22 April 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"We<\/a>

Daycare was closed that day, as all the teachers were on a study trip to Glasgow! \u00a0Emma stayed with her grandparents, and when they returned her, the brought their cart along. \u00a0Thus we finally managed to get rid of the black bags with garden waste that we never discarded last year!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Busy<\/a>

Busy people!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 23 April 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

We visted Ragnar and Agnes in Reykjanesb\u00e6r. \u00a0After driving there, the car was low on batteries, and we used the fast charger for the first time. \u00a0It pumped a sweet 110 Amperes into the battery, and it was full in half an hour!<\/p>\n

\"About<\/a>

\u00a0We desperately needed a walk after eating too much good food, so to the beach we walked. \u00a0Sloooowly.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"One<\/a>

One of the reasons the town is broke?<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Pretty<\/a>

Pretty cool, but sadly not all of it was quite functional.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We made it to the beach!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"I<\/a>

I stayed away from the scary big rocks, that break wobbly ankles. \u00a0Instead I took a panorama.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Walking<\/a>

Walking back. It took me about 30 minutes to walk the 10 minute walk. But at least I made it there and back again!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"When<\/a>

When we got home, Emma became enthralled (and very afraid) of this spider that was weaving its web on the outside of one of our windows.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"After<\/a>

After a while it decided to rest in the middle.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"In<\/a>

In other news: That evening I FINALLY finished a jigsaw puzzle that’s been traveling around the house since Christmas 2014, I kid you not! So yes, big win for me, and I was only a little sad that apparently one piece didn’t survive all the moving about this poor jigsaw went through (kitchen table, front room, repeat, under our bed, on top of a chest of drawers, on top of a second chest of drawers, kitchen table). \u00a0Technically it belongs to Anna, but it turned out to be not that fun to do, so she left it to me.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
