I returned to Canada for a week-long\u00a0work-trip in October, a loooong loooong time ago. \u00a0As before<\/a>, I flew with my colleagues to Edmonton<\/a>, to work in a factory close by. (31 images total)<\/p>\n

Saturday 10 October 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Selfie,<\/a>

Selfie, as we wait to board a bus to the plane at Keflavik.<\/p><\/div>\n

That’s one mossy bus!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Keflavik<\/a>

Keflavik airport is now so over-run with passengers, that they’ve started parking airplanes away from the building. Therefore, they now have special lifting vehicles to get immobile people up to the planes. This is the first time I see one of those vehicles there.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The newest housing addition to the far too small airport.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Flying<\/a>

Flying over Greenland is always a treat. Shame about the melting.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Icelandair<\/a>

Icelandair thankfully has monitors in every seat-back. Sadly, and somewhat hilariously, mine was broken!<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 11 October 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

The view out my hotel room. We frequented that Boston Pizza place quite a bit, and I even used the ginormous athletic center, on the other side of the parking lot, a few times. The image gets larger if you click on it.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Breakfast<\/a>

Breakfast of Champions, Holiday Inn style.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We did what we could do on a Sunday at the factory, and then went to visit the huuuuge Edmonton Mall. Yes, the one with an indoor ice skating rink.<\/p><\/div>\n

I was there!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"A<\/a>

A new swimsuit! There is a store that only\u00a0sells swim-wear (because the mall also has a huge indoor beach & pool). I totally lucked out!<\/p><\/div>\n

Monday 12 October 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Breakfast<\/a>

Breakfast boost. \u00a0This Monday was the Canadian Thanksgiving<\/a>, so the factory was closed again. \u00a0My colleague and I spent the day coding for the week ahead, which was time well spent.<\/p><\/div>\n

Canadian Lunch.<\/p><\/div>\n

Tea time at a cosy cafe.<\/p><\/div>\n

Waiting in the hotel foyer, about to head to dinner.<\/p><\/div>\n

Due to a planned electricity outage in the wee hours of the morning, the hotel distributed these adorable camping lanterns. Sadly, I never had a reason to use mine.<\/p><\/div>\n

The area is flat, but the view can still be pretty!<\/p><\/div>\n

We had a lot of time to kill before our plane left around dinner time. The first stop of the day: Halloween stores! \u00a0There were three of them, right next to each other, and this one had a whole group of people outside, all dressed up! \u00a0I bought quite a bit of stuff…<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Seasonal,<\/a>

Seasonal, and very cool!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"They<\/a>

They were busy!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"One<\/a>

One of our American coworkers being funny.<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to the Edmonton Mall again! \u00a0It was very busy, and this time there was a sea-lion show going on.<\/p><\/div>\n

The mall’s got a lot of nooks and crannies.<\/p><\/div>\n

I was there!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Airborne!<\/a>

Airborne! Flying over Canada.<\/p><\/div>\n

Many, many hours later we finally landed in Iceland…<\/p><\/div>\n

… only to be shepherded back on a bus, which drove us 200 m\/yards to the entrance\u00a0of the airport. This time we got lucky, and didn’t have to wait in line at all to clear the security check. \u00a0 Home, sweet home!<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
