[Photos from 1 to 26 (!!!) November 2015<\/strong>, posted online on 16 March 2016<\/strong>. \u00a0This is what guilt looks like!<\/em>]<\/p>\n

This past autumn somehow, slowly but surely, crushed me.<\/p>\n

By the time the kids were taken care of by 9 pm, I was totally done for, and blogging (which I enjoy, darnit!) rarely happened. \u00a0Documenting our busy summer months took half of forever, so when I looked back over the year in January, I discovered I’d posted ZERO things from November. \u00a0That hasn’t happened in years…<\/p>\n

Since November (and the autumn in general) still taunts me, I’m going to try and give it a little love. \u00a0I hope you bear with me! (42 images total)<\/p>\n

I think I was taking the trash out, when I noticed the northern lights were going crazy. I snapped this with my phone (I’ve upped the brightness a bit), and then went back inside, where it was warm!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 7 November 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

We were invited to a 40th birthday party, so we used the babysitting opportunity and also went out to dinner.<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to Rest\u00f3<\/a>, which had great food, and we exited very full!<\/p><\/div>\n

We didn’t know many people at the party besides the birthday boy, but we had a good time nonetheless. A high-point was his friends carrying in a huuuuge present, which turned out to be a wrapped up wooden frame, with gifts hanging from the rafters!<\/p><\/div>\n

We attended a double-birthday party in Finnur’s family.<\/p><\/div>\n

Trying a different hair style for a few minutes at work. \u00a0I didn’t quite have enough hair to pull it off, so away it went. \u00a0Maybe later!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 14 November 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

The employee association at Marel<\/a> offered tickets to a hit theater showing of Robin Hood (the acrobatic\/feminist edition)<\/a> at a steep discount. I jumped at the opportunity, and invited a friend of Anna’s along. (The show was recommended for 10 year olds and up, so Bjarki will have to see it in a few years.) The national theater is housed in that gray building behind them.<\/p><\/div>\n

The whole play was performed using this backdrop, which was in part a huge slide, a castle with a drawbridge, a forest, and a few other things. They made really great use of all the volume!<\/p><\/div>\n

Munching and drinking during the intermission. The play was super fun, and the girls where super happy!<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 15 November 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Our<\/a>

Our friends from California, \u00dalfar and Lotta, stayed in Iceland this whole autumn, and we finally managed to gather them, along with Gu\u00f0r\u00fan and Snorri, for a brunch at our house. Gathering three busy families in one spot is no easy feat!<\/p><\/div>\n

Cute kiddos! \u00a0Shame the flash flashed so hard!<\/p><\/div>\n

As we were tidying up for our visitors, we found this note from Anna: “I don’t like tidying up, and Emma was hiding in my closet.”<\/p><\/div>\n

In the afternoon, we went to yet another birthday party! There are a lot of them in November!<\/p><\/div>\n

Saturday 21 November 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Fast-forwarding<\/a>

Fast-forwarding to the next weekend, we again had some friends over. Finnur made seafood soup for dinner, and I was sent out on an emergency run to acquire coconut milk, which Finnur had forgotten to buy. Who knew there were so many brands available in the organic section!?!<\/p><\/div>\n

I sadly took almost no photos at all. This one was taken mostly as a place-marker that’d we’d actually met up with Solla and Gunni, because it can take weeks to catch up with them!<\/p><\/div>\n

The living room at 9 am on a Sunday morning: Dark outside, and two kids watching brain-killing stuff on the computers. The oldest kiddo was probably still asleep at that point.<\/p><\/div>\n

I escaped out of the house for a bit, and went shopping. At the bookstore I got a huge flashback to my youth from this lego-set. Oh, I spent sooooo many hours building spacecrafts from bricks like those!<\/p><\/div>\n

Because there aren’t enough weekends, we had friends over for the second night in a row. \u00a0This time it was Ragnar and Agnes and their fun\u00a0kiddos.<\/p><\/div>\n
