It sounds like viruses are swirling\u00a0all around these days. \u00a0This past Friday one of them hit our humble abode, when Bjarki came down with a fever, headache, stomach ache, and an unending thirst for more computer time.<\/p>\n

I will admit that I was pretty glad I had an excused to take Friday off from work, since I’d mentally (as well as physically) limped through Thursday. \u00a0My work stamina is still pretty blah apparently.<\/p>\n

The biggest thing that ‘happened’ on Friday was that Emma discovered we have a backyard that she can play in after daycare! \u00a0It was not obvious to her before because it was always dark out, but now we’ve got happy brightness past dinner-time. \u00a0Yay!<\/p>\n

Saturday was a huge nothing-whatsoever-happened-day, but on Sunday the whole family (me included!) ventured out on a library\/coffee house-run. \u00a0We all desperately needed to get out of the house, but decided against actually infecting the friends\u00a0that had invited us over for dinner, so downtown to infect strangers we went!<\/p>\n

Monday rolled around with Bjarki still at home, but this time Finnur took home-duty, while I escaped to work (funny how that works!). \u00a0Oh, and after two days of thaw, our backyard is now quite snowless for the first time in over three months! (15 images total)<\/p>\n

Emma, having recently discovered this “backyard” thing of ours, where she can go out and play by herself, without us having to go out too (which we can’t\/won’t because we’re lazy\/it’s cold\/feet don’t work). \u00a0Taking photos through the window works though!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Friday 11 March 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Bjarki,<\/a>

Bjarki, not hating being home with a fever. \u00a0We’ve tried hard to limit his computer time though, so that he’ll hopefully agree to return to school at some point…<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We got Anna to make muffins and hot chocolate for tea-time! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Mmmm...<\/a>

Mmmm… muffins!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

After daycare, Emma discovered our backyard, and she’s old enough to stay there and play now. \u00a0That’s so awesome!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Hmm...<\/a>

Hmm… where are the bubbles?<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Having<\/a>

Having a hard time biking on the slippery snow…<\/p><\/div>\n

\"She<\/a>

She kept eating snow, including the stuff she’d stuffed inside this push-car. It was both adorable, and cringe-worthy.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sushi for dinner!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

Emma the Helpful arranged these jigsaw pieces on the floor, and proudly exclaimed: “I’ve made a path to the kitchen for you mom. Come now!” All I could think was: “Death Trap!”<\/p><\/div>\n

Sunday 13 March 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"I've<\/a>

I’ve waited SO LONG for this view! \u00a0Kudos to Finnur for dragging me out of the house, I keep forgetting I’m not quite as stuck to the sofa as I think I am.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Bjarki<\/a>

A somewhat sickly and still feverish Bjarki and me, enjoying our time at the coffee house by the library. A very kind man gave up his seat for me, because the cafe was full. We ended up putting up a fold-out table, and chairs, next to it, as suggested by the staff.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

Emma fell asleep on the way to the library, so Finnur hung out with her in the car, while we went to the library, and then hobbled over to the coffee house. When they arrived, Bjarki had just given up on his hot chocolate and sugary things, so Emma finished it for him. Very economical!<\/p><\/div>\n

Monday 14 March 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"All<\/a>

All of a sudden there’s almost no snow left in our backyard, after over three months of constant whiteness. It’ll take some getting used to.<\/p><\/div>\n
