{"id":15119,"date":"2016-02-08T15:21:49","date_gmt":"2016-02-08T15:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/?p=15119"},"modified":"2016-02-08T16:10:32","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T16:10:32","slug":"four-weeks-since-ankle-breakage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/four-weeks-since-ankle-breakage\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Weeks Since Ankle Breakage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[<em>Written 8 February 2016.<\/em>]<\/p>\n<p>Today marks the four week anniversary of me botching an ice-slippage landing so spectacularly that I broke multiple bones in and around my right ankle. \u00a0Time\u00a0moves both fast and slow.<\/p>\n<p>So, how are things?<\/p>\n<p>Well, they&#8217;re not bad, but not fabulous either. \u00a0I keep hopping around on my left foot (with crutches most of the time), so no change there.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the right foot feels ok-ish. \u00a0The right side (outside?)\u00a0of the foot (where they put a plate) doesn&#8217;t seem to bother me at all, but the left side (inside?) (where bones broke in the ankle) is less happy. \u00a0It&#8217;s not in constant pain (although I&#8217;ll admit to taking a painkiller once in a while), but it&#8217;s annoyingly annoying. \u00a0It still feels swollen, and generally unhappy.<\/p>\n<p>There hasn&#8217;t been a lot of change in the past week. \u00a0Mostly I can keep the foot down low for a longer period of time. \u00a0For example, I could only do two things in the get-up routine (put in contacts, brush teeth) before I had to skedaddle back to bed, and elevate my foot. \u00a0Now I can do four things before I have to skedaddle back to bed and elevate my foot.<\/p>\n<p>So yeah, nothing very exciting going on here on the couch, just more waiting, and waiting.<\/p>\n<p>As always, Finnur keeps holding down the fort, and everyone is still clothed and fed, so yay!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Written 8 February 2016.] Today marks the four week anniversary of me botching an ice-slippage landing so spectacularly that I broke multiple bones in and around my right ankle. \u00a0Time\u00a0moves both fast and slow.
