Annual balls are a thing in Iceland, where an entire company\/organization goes out and has a fun evening, complete with fancy clothes, fancy food, and most often, copious amounts of alcohol.<\/p>\n

Marel’s ball was last night, and after a pre-party at the boss’s house, we moved to what is usually a sports gymnasium (they play and practice basketball, team handball, etc there), but it had been decked out with carpets, tables, chairs, and the works! \u00a0A good time was had by all! \"Dropping<\/a>

Dropping the last kid off for an overnight stay. Yes, for the first time in two years, there would be zero children in the house the morning after.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

There was a photo booth (I’m not sure if we’ll get or post that photo) but afterwards we fooled around a bit with these speech bubbles. Here Finnur’s totally got this!<\/p><\/div>\n

The theme of the evening was ‘Casino’ so they’d set up a few mock playing tables. I say ‘mock’ because everybody got issued chips when they sat down, and then they could play them as the wanted before returning them to the bank when they quit. Actual gambling is prohibited by law in Iceland.<\/p><\/div>\n

Inside I met this lady (J\u00f3hanna Krist\u00edn?) and we were pretty sure we knew each other somehow, but couldn’t figure out how. So a selfie got taken so we could figure it out later! Anyone? \u00a0(Facebook reveals a connection through Gu\u00f0r\u00fan and Snorri… Hang on… She’s the wife of \u00de\u00f3rir, brother of Gu\u00f0r\u00fan right?!?) \u00a0Small world.<\/p><\/div>\n

The cocktail makers from Slippbarinn<\/a> knew what they were doing. (Sadly, the cocktails weren’t on the house, but oh well!)<\/p><\/div>\n

After dinner, the band Ing\u00f3 and the Weather Gods played and they got everybody dancing. They were really quite good!!<\/p><\/div>\n

Heading out half past midnight, before the big scramble for taxis began.<\/p><\/div>\n
