Hey, it’s February!! \u00a0How’d that happen?!?!<\/p>\n

We were expecting afternoon visitors, but they had to cancel, so instead I took the big kids to the library (+ quick FFF stop at the photography museum showroom), coffee house, and N\u00f6kkvi’s library, before taking Emma outside, and then ending up making a ton of snowmen, because the snow was perfect<\/em>! (30 images total)<\/p>\n

Winter Wonderland!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

A sibling huuuug.<\/p><\/div>\n

Emma’s got lots of new facial expressions.<\/p><\/div>\n

At the library I skipped on up to the 6th floor to check out the newest photography show<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Oooh!<\/a>

Oooh! The US base in Iceland after it closed. Neat!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"These<\/a>

These photos all had something very US in them.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Ordinary<\/a>

Ordinary kitchen except for the extra-wide fridge, not normally found in Iceland.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"US<\/a>

US style washing machines, and AT&T phone-booth.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Moar<\/a>

Moar base photos.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This<\/a>

This is what fun looks like! \u00a0Officer’s club on the left, some ‘bar’ on the right.<\/p><\/div>\n

Who’re you gonna call?<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The phrase ‘Use of deadly\u00a0force is authorized’ is here translated to ‘Weapon usage permitted if needed’ in Icelandic. That’s not quite the same thing!<\/p><\/div>\n

Supermarket, main entry gate, empty swimming pool. \u00a0Back in the day, the main Icelandic international airport was located INSIDE the base, so I have a vague memory of passing through that gate to get to the terminal.<\/p><\/div>\n

Yes, I want that on my bleachers too. Not.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Author<\/a>

The video room had a long photo slide-show running. \u00a0Some of these photos were featured in the Photos by Women<\/a> show, and were among my favorites there.<\/p><\/div>\n

These were basically a bunch of photos of people in their homes, but only half-posed. Pretty good series overall.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Outside<\/a>

Outside the main hall was a tiny show of long-exposures.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Nice<\/a>

Nice and soft. \u00a0Tripods are fabulous things.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

As always, the stairwell holds fun images too.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"After<\/a>

After the library we got some hot chocolate. Yum!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Goodness<\/a>

Goodness Bonanza!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"I<\/a>

I like this bookshop\/coffee house. \u00a0We spent a while there reading, waiting for N\u00f6kkvi’s library to open.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Close<\/a>

Close to 6pm I took Emma outside (well, I’d made Anna stay outside with her for 10 minutes, but then I took over). She manged to fall off the swings, but the snow was nice and soft, so it was ok.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bjarki was afraid the first snowman we built would feel lonely, so he gave him a friend to hug.<\/p><\/div>\n
