Wednesday 9 July 2014 – Thingvellir<\/strong><\/p>\n

The day after we drove to visit the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and the S\u00f3lheimaj\u00f6kull glacier<\/a>, we packed up, cleaned, and drove back to the capital area.<\/p>\n

As promised, we stopped by Thingvellir on the way. \u00a0We hiked up to the \u00d6xar\u00e1rfoss waterfall<\/a>, where Finnur flew his drone. \u00a0I did not take a single picture<\/em>, I don’t know why. \u00a0(Well, I took a few pictures of a couple using their camera, but that was it.)<\/p>\n

The following Thursday and Friday were quiet days. \u00a0We were all plenty tired, and the travelers needed to charge their batteries for the trip back.<\/p>\n

Thursday 10 July 2014 – Fancy Dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morning computer time in session.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

I’m pretty sure this was the evening where Sarah’s parents babysat for us while the rest of the adults went out to have a fancy dinner<\/a>\u00a0downtown.<\/p>\n

Friday 11 July 2014 – Swimming\/Packing Day!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Augusto was en fuego, and took kids to two<\/em> swimming pools that day! \u00a0Our local one (the one they visited the first day, Salalaug), and the other pool in our town, K\u00f3pavogslaug.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, there was packing.<\/p>\n

In the evening, soap bubbles suddenly appeared outside the living room window. Turns out Anna was blowing them out of her window!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Packing<\/a>

Packing mostly done. We needed to leave for the airport at 07:45 the morning after.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"But<\/a>

But first, a game of pinochle<\/a>!!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Well,<\/a>

Well, that’s a crappy hand! Five nine and NO ace would have allowed me to call for a redeal. Pesky ace! Still, I think Augusto and I dominated this game and we got to four hundred before 1 am…<\/p><\/div>\n

To make things simpler, Sarah’s parents stayed at our place that night, while Augusto slept on the sofa and Sarah got one of Clarissa’s mattresses.<\/p>\n

Saturday 12 July 2014 – Departure Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

We woke up bright and early, and were out the door pretty much on time.<\/p>\n

The laptop is always one of the last things to be packed.<\/p><\/div>\n

Daughter and mother looking uncannily alike.<\/p><\/div>\n

Time to hug goodbye!<\/p><\/div>\n

We had to bring both cars to the airport, because somebody needed to drive the jeep back. We left the big kids with their beloved computers, while Emma rode with us.<\/p><\/div>\n

Thirty-five minutes later, we were at Keflavik airport.<\/p><\/div>\n

Jason wary of the person with the camera.<\/p><\/div>\n

Some chatting while the car was being emptied.<\/p><\/div>\n
