We hosted a “family and friends” birthday party for Bjarki on a semi-sunny Saturday afternoon. \u00a0As is customary in the middle of the summer, a lot of people were traveling and\/or sick with some bug, so a lot of people couldn’t make it. \u00a0We still had a full house, and a good time was had by all! \u00a0(I hope!!) Bjarki’s birthday cake, completed shortly after midnight on his birthday.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

\"We'd<\/a>

We’d discussed the present opening schedule the night before. The first present was opened right after waking up, and the remainder would be opened once the kids had helped tidy their rooms. Yes, we’re that evil.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

Emma with a fun new gadget: a somewhat clunky-looking Ikea LED table lamp, that charges via USB and lasts a few hours while unplugged. It the latest in a long line of things that Hrefna buys that Finnur deems ugly but Hrefna likes for their usefulness.<\/p><\/div>\n

Emma gave Bjarki a book about the inner workings of the human body. Because Bjarki has questions.<\/p><\/div>\n

Next followed a bit of tidying up. Emma ‘helped’.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Anna<\/a>

She got kisses in return.<\/p><\/div>\n

Opening the last of the presents, this was a Lego Movie computer game from us the old folks.<\/p><\/div>\n

Afterwards, Anna assembled her first piece of Ikea furniture, all by herself!<\/p><\/div>\n

Emma getting fed after her nap and before the guests started arriving.<\/p><\/div>\n

Adda and Holla saving my butt yet again by cutting up veggies for the burgers and some fruits for snacks. Aren’t they best when freshly cut anyway?<\/p><\/div>\n

Soon it was time to eat hamburgers and hot dogs. Halli manned the BBQ, while I was on bun-duty in the kitchen.<\/p><\/div>\n

After the hamburgers and hot dogs the kids jumped into the hot tub for a bit.<\/p><\/div>\n

Living room peeps. I was so busy with the bun-heating and general party management that I did a poor job of photographing the party. Sorry to those that were there!<\/p><\/div>\n
