Easter Day finally<\/em> arrived with its promise of copious chocolate and candy. \u00a0First the kids had to find their eggs though… (28 images total)<\/p>\n

NOT an Easter egg!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

\"Bjarki<\/a>

Bjarki found his first…<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Anna<\/a>

Anna finally found hers in Emma’s toybox, and it was soon time for chocolate!!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The eggs all have sayings in them. Emma got “S\u00e6ll er s\u00e1 sem gott gerir” or “Happy is the one who does good”.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Anna's<\/a>

Anna’s was “\u00c1n\u00e6gjan er au\u00f0i betri” or “Pleasure\/enjoyment is better than wealth”.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Bjarki<\/a>

Bjarki got “Gott er a\u00f0 eiga g\u00f3\u00f0an a\u00f0” or “It’s good to be connected with good people”.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"After<\/a>

After copious amounts of chocolate and computer time, we went to Finnur’s parents’ place for the customary Easter feast and whist tournament. \u00a0Yellow clothes were encouraged!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

First attempt at a new hairstyle Anna’s hairdresser taught me the other day. It’s ridiculously simple, although fastening it down can be a pain.<\/p><\/div>\n

Emma being super cheerful, which is kinda standard for her. \u00a0She’s routinely taking 1-2 steps now, but then she goes down to crawl.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"I've<\/a>

I’ve yet to reach the level of adulthood needed to actually put up Easter decorations. That’s waaaay advanced!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"After<\/a>

After dinner we “hid” some candy-filled plastic eggs, for the kids to find.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

Next up was the traditional whist tournament, except that I forgot to take pictures of it in progress! The big news was that Anna S\u00f3lr\u00fan participated for the first time (with the occasional help of Margr\u00e9t) and did really well. She placed 4-6th, while us, her parents, (who tag-teamed) were 11th out of 12. Here Vignir is going over the results.<\/p><\/div>\n

The winners this year were Hilmir and Margr\u00e9t, who played as a team.<\/p><\/div>\n

Happy winners!<\/p><\/div>\n

At some point Finnur and I both ended up on laptops, but it was for a good cause!<\/p><\/div>\n

Once we got back home, I attempted to relax on the sofa, but was soon overrun with striped children.<\/p><\/div>\n

My saying was “S\u00e1 einn veit sem reynir” or “Only the one who tries knows”. Finnur’s was something along the lines of “A black raven does not turn into a white raven if you bathe it”.<\/p><\/div>\n
