Ms. Bambino is doing well enough and my milk’s come in enough that she’s being put on ‘leave’ from the NICU. This means she’ll be going down to my room to hang out with us, but we are to return to the NICU at midnight and in the morning so that she gets her IVRead more
Ms. Bambino is technically fever-free, but may need jaundice (gula) treatment before we claim total victory. Until then we keep supplementing what she’s getting from me (that helps reduce the jaundice). Here she is, completely passed out after the most recent feeding.Read more
The docs decided to start Ms. Bambino on antibiotics last night after all, so she’s back in the NICU. She does look very good, but she does have a fever and blood work confirms she’s mildly fighting something. So the docs prefer to be safer than sorry, especially because I’m a so called ‘strep-b carrier’.Read more

Ms. Bambino is now 24 hours old. She’s energetic, drinks like a champ (if only there were milk!), and likes hanging out on my chest.
