Got a headache earlier tonight so I went to the hospital. It’s likely the new drug is to blame (so not taking that again), but the docs decided to admit me overnight just to keep an eye on me, even though the monitoring looked fine. Tomorrow will bring more tests, and possibly some action. We’llRead more
Monitoring went well this morning. Barely any contractions though. Induction set for Wednesday morning, assuming nothing changes. Doc added a second ‘stabilizing’ blood pressure medication to try and reduce my wild fluctuations. On my way home to nap after a poor night’s sleep.Read more
It’s 8 am-ish. Been a quiet night, contractions mostly gone. No news.Read more
Finally a wee bit of ‘action’… Shortly after noon today I started getting mild contractions 5 minutes apart. Around two pm I checked my blood pressure and it was very high, so I called the hospital, and got permission to take my medicine early, and report back in an hour or so. The pressure wentRead more

Finnur did all the heavy lifting today: shuttling the kids back and forth to and from various activities, going to the grocery store, doing laundry, etc. etc. The day’s highlight was probably visiting Gerðuberg with Adda and her kids, where there were lots of fun activities (I’m told).Read more

There I was informed that my 24-hour urine sample results had enough protein to qualify me as having crossed the threshold from just having ‘gestational hypertension‘Read more

The result is this vicious cycle where the reading is high, then you start stressing about the pressure, and it gets worse from there. The way I deal with this is to take multiple measurements over the courseRead more
I have a sneaky suspicion this pregnancy will be ending much like Anna’s, i.e. getting induced because of developing pre-eclampsia. But we’re not there yet! Yes, I spent a couple of hours at the hospital today. First off: the baby is head down (way down), its heart-rate and movements all look excellent, and its weightRead more
