Weather extremes
It’s blizzard-time!! It’s snowing outside and the wind is blowing. Ironically, the tempertures seems to have risen to 0 degrees celcius – it’s been hovering around -8 since we got here. The result of the frost seems to have been super-dry air. My hands have all but shrivelled up and my fingertips feel raspy, but now that it’s snowing, hopefully all will get better! 🙂 It’s been just amazing how much static energy there is everywhere, I keep having to wet my hair to get it under control!
I don’t know if I can blame the weather but Anna’s not been sleeping very well since we got here. She’s been taking her afternoon naps, but the first night here she woke up pretty much every hour for much of the night, and last night she produced a poopy diaper at midnight, and pretty much stayed awake until 3 am, only to wake up, bright and cheerful and utterly adorable with rosy red cheeks from the cold wind yesterday, at 9am.
My cold-from-hell hasn’t improved much either since we got here, my ears still crackle, my nose is jammed and my throat is sore. We stayed “home” yesterday in a vain attempt to get me to feel better (well, we went to the store, but that’s about it) and things may have improved just a little… knock on wood! It’s annoying to have such a bad cold since I don’t really feel like visiting people and infecting them, but then again, we’ll only be here for 11 more days!
Hmm… It sounds like Anna’s done with her morning nap. Lunch-time! 🙂
