Growth Ultrasound and Garage Progress
Today was a fairly busy day, but with two clear highlights. The first was us going in for a quick ‘growth’ ultrasound, to see if my high blood pressure had put a damper on the baby’s growth. The short and sweet answer was ‘no’, the bambino measures above average in size for its age, with an estimated weight of 2750 g (11 merkur, or 6 lbs). We also got confirmation that it’s currently head-down, and got a cute profile image as a bonus to take home:
The other big event was us finally getting the garage organized enough to fit our car in there!
This has been a dream of Finnur’s ever since we moved in (he hates clearing the car windows of ice and snow), but I will admit that I was skeptical that we’d ever manage it because of all our bikes and stuff.
This past summer though the stuff got mostly sorted away, and this December Finnur bought cheap bike lifts in the US in order to hang some of the bikes. The bike lifts got installed a few days ago, and tonight we finished clearing the floor (well, Finnur did, I just ‘directed’) and amazingly the car made it inside.
(We won’t discuss how it’s supposed to start raining tonight, and keep raining for the next few days, with no frost for the next ten days… sssshhh…)
I’ll finish with a photo Bjarki took all by himself this afternoon, as he patiently waited for the clock to strike 6 pm and ‘computer time’ to commence.
In other preggers news, it would appear that all that standing around I did yesterday at the ice-rink resulted in quite a lot of lower-limb water retention, so tomorrow’s plan is to take it very easy, and stay mostly horizontal.
