Yuletide Concert
Life is slowly course-correcting to ‘normal’ now that Finnur’s back, although we’re still working out a few bugs (literally). I’m still only running at about 70% (if that) while Bjarki was back up to 100% energy this morning, but couldn’t go to daycare due to the ‘Fine For 24-Hours’ Rule. As a result, I offered (begged) Finnur’s parents to entertain him for the day, which they very kindly agreed to.
I did go to the health center this morning to rule out strep throat, and then got informed by my GP that pregnant women take longer to get over colds than the non-pregnant ones. Which may explain why I’ve had a sore throat for a solid week now. There doesn’t seem to be an infection anywhere, so I was sent home with a prescription to be patient, drink lots of fluids, especially warm tea.
A two hour nap this afternoon did wonders, and I even ventured to gym class for the first time in over a week, although I took it pretty slow.
The big event of the day though was Anna participating in her music school’s yuletide concert (one of many apparently). The teacher doesn’t push the kids to do anything terribly extravagant for concerts, I think the thinking is more for them to do simpler pieces that they can handle fairly easily so they gain ‘performance confidence’ or something.
So yes, without further ado, here’s Anna playing ‘Bráðum koma blessuð jólin’ at today’s concert:
Anna playing a song on the piano.
After the concert, we walked on over to the thai place next door to have dinner. So very convenient! 🙂
