Fever!
On this Wednesday, we had initially planned to drive all the way to Mývatn, a picturesque lake almost two hours away. When the day dawned, we discovered that Hildur Sif had a fever and was acting rather sluggish. We therefore cancelled our plans (the lake isn’t going anywhere any time soon) and we (the four of us) called our friend Kata, and invited ourselves over in the afternoon.

When we tried to depart we found that our car was out of batteries. It turned out Bjarki had fiddled with the ceiling-light and it had drained the battery over-night. Since it’s so bright out now, there was no way to spot it. Thankfully, we bought starter-cables this winter, so we weren’t stranded for very long.
(Side-note: How can it be this day and age, and cars STILL aren’t intelligent enough to make sure to conserve enough battery power to get themselves started?!?! Seriously, how hard is it to use one of those on-board computers to notice that an indoor light has been on for say 2 hours, and do something about it?!)

At Kata’s house. We all went to the Hrafnagil swimming pool (where I did my customary 1 km) and then hung out chatting until close to dinner time, when we headed back to home-base. Also, it appears that all self-respecting swimming pools in Iceland sport three-story high slides these days. 🙂
Games were played long into the night. 🙂
