Carpentry and Travels
Friday morning the carpenter(s) showed up bright and early and set up their gear. Most of the work was done by a younger guy, while his boss (an older gentleman) showed up now and again to check things out. By the end of the day the lowest deck was almost fully completed.
We then waved goodbye to the carpenters, and crossed our fingers they’d do good work the next week, without our supervision. Why? Because we were about to set out for a week-long stay in the north of Iceland!
Yes, Adda and Halli got issued a cheap week-long stay at a fancy-smancy summer-house through their union. And since we have very compatible kids (and the adults get along great too!) we jumped at the chance to join them during their stay.
The summer house was at Hrísar, a five hour drive from our house. Since we set out really late, we arrived shortly before midnight, but that was ok because the weather was nice, and it was still plenty bright outside. We got the kids settled into bed and then hung out a little before collapsing into bed ourselves.
