We spent a day biking around the DTU campus and surrounding town called King’s Lyngby. The following day we managed to acquire a sleeper-sofa, shelves, and some other odds and ends.

The owner of our AirBnb house told us we were free to use the bikes by the house. We happily did!
We biked over to one of the campus housing sites.
Sound-dampeners? These houses are all fairly new, and with lots of eco-this and that features.
The rather tiny living/dining/kitchen room, with a very red floor!
The bike racks were literally in the weeds.
Off to explore the campus!
We found building 101, and it was all long wide corridors and spurious art, forming a large rectangle. It contains the school gym and food-courts, among other more (?) important things like the main offices.
Inside the square was a garden with more spurious art.

The electro-way! Yup, we located the electrical engineering department.
Hunger struck, and after a few false tries based off of Google Maps, we ended up at this tiny cafe a little ways off campus. (Everything on campus was closed, as school wasn’t in session yet.)

We ended up in the Lyngby stor-center (mall) and there was much discussion about various products.
We made it back in one piece!
Emma’s bedroom had lots of horse-riding medals on the wall.
We drove downtown to get dinner, and were confronted with the usual avalance of parking apps. At least this time the EasyPark app (that’s also used in Iceland) also worked here.
Dinner was surprisingly scrumptious, as we’d stumbled into a better restaurant than we’d anticipated!

We wandered around downtown for a bit, and found an ice-cream store that was open. Here we’re picking flavors from the list outside…

Breakfast of shopping champions…?
Gathering energy for the shopping to come…
Here we go…
At the entrance of Ikea was a stack of clear plastic “moving-away-from-home” boxes, with all a person needs for their first kitchen!
We were hunting for sleeper couches, and drove to a bigger nearby Jysk store to butt-test some more. The huge big apartment buildings looked very familiar, and I realized we were very close to the tree-climbing site we’d visited on a previous trip three years prior.
After the type of couch had been decided, we looked for used ones online, and then drove quite a ways south into the city to check one out. This neighborhood looked very new!
Crazily, the sofa that was advertised belonged to Icelanders that were about to move back to Iceland! They lived in a very nice courtyard!
Unfortunately, the closing mechanism appeared bent out of shape, so the “tonge” didn’t close correctly and the seat wasn’t level. We politely declined the sofa, but walked out anyway with a bunch of pillows and other things they were trying to get rid of!
On the drive back north, we concluded that we should just get the sofa directly from the Ikea that was a 7 minute drive from their apartment, since aside from the used couch being bent, it was also way too big to fit into the rental car in one go, and that would have meant a lot of driving.
