[Photos taken 21 June 2025, posted online 17 May 2026. We’re back to mild weather, perfect for helping build a deck and glass-house at Finnur’s parents’ summer house.]
She opted for a small family party (aka “the usual suspects”), which still filled our small house, especially since the weather gods decided on “pouring rain”. Thankfully we’d managed to put a small cover over the patio, so that’s where Finnur’s family congregated, while mine took over the living room.

The fresh B.Sc.-ers with their diplomas!
The day began with me making crepes, and in retrospect I should have doubled the already doubled recipe!
Anna had to arrive by 10 in the morning for rehearsals, but I managed to take a few photos before her ride arrived.
Internally smirking at me as I tried to “find the correct light”.
Gorgeous! And then she was off!!
Us parents arrived about an hour later, for the first of two Reykjavik University graduation ceremonies in Harpa that day.
The Eldborg hall is always impressive. Such a successful design!
We spotted Anna among the graduates.
There were speeches…
A choir sung…
Anna up on the stage for the “envelope-handshake-walk-handshake” graduation conveyor belt.
Animated gif of Anna receiving her B.Sc. diploma. (Might have to wait for it to load)
The proud parents!
Many handshakes later, all the graduates had their diplomas and we were free to go give congratulatory hugs!
Besties!
All done, yay!!
The diploma.
At the foot of the large staircase.
We hurried home, where yes, it was still pouring with rain.
The outside seating was thankfully still dry, and the borrowed heater was turned on!
The food arrived!
The cake had writing!
Anna’s macarons were a big hit!
Some of my family…
Some of Finnur’s family…
The graduate got a toast!
The graduate welcomed all and then it was time to eat!
