We had the pleasure of attending my niece’s Harry Potter themed confirmation party on a lovely afternoon. The Swedes returned to their home a couple of days later, and then it was just “waiting for easter holiday”-time!

Sunday 13 April 2025

The location of the confirmation party, it the community “hall” of the nearby Free Church (Fríkirkjan).
The newly confirmed one!
The Swedes with Emma and Bjarki. Anna was missing in action as she had too much studying to do. (She may have had a test the following day?)
The men sorted by tallness. Those of you that know how tall Finnur is might understand why I feel like a midget when at family parties…
Guests arriving, being greeted by the hostesses.
The gift and guestbook table.
Cousins!
The father of the newly confirmed one seemed to be allergic to something (mold?) in the room, hence the sickly look. He’s had better luck.
Holding the newest family member!
Food kept being added to the table!
Mom and daughters.
Hogwarts letters!
The obligatory playing of music!
The audience was rapt!
She did good!
Eating time!
Such a cool decoration!
Beheading the tower-cake.
Proof I was there!
It was a calm weather day out.
The labels on the table were so much fun. Here’s “Hagrid’s farm”.
The “Parchment Paper Scrolls”.
More manly men posturing.
They had floating candles!
“Hungarian Horntail Horns”!
Pleased with her fun party!
Goodbye time!
The Pond (Tjörnin) was just down the street.
At home, we found Anna bundled on her bed, hard at work.

Containers with candy have a tendency to randomly show up at work. Yay?
Sad plant outside the gym. Spring is a difficult time!
A screenshot from the Blue Prince computer game, which kept sucking me in.

Tuesday 15 April 2025

The sky at 5 in the morning, as I prepared to drive the Swedes to the airport.
The Swedes goodbye-ed, very, very quickly as the drop-off zone by the airport only allows 5 minutes stops (and charges outrageous sums of money for each minute you go over), and the parking lot next to it was totally and utterly full, so we had no choice in the matter.
Time to get the car checked out.
Hrrrm… it apparently needed some repairs. I was glad I’d gone on time, so I didn’t get into too much trouble as the shop wait-time was 6 weeks.
Emma’s current obsession.
Anna was finally free from schoolwork, so it was time to make cookies!
My knitting project crawled on…
Emma was very happy to get a belated birthday present from the now-departed Swedes!
I went out on a jog-walk. In the distance were the first of the building cranes that now dot the hill-top to the side of us.
The Strava recording.
The stupa was still there.
My Achilles tendons kept being a nuisance, so there was jogging and then walking, especially up hills.
Made it to the lake.
Found a river that feeds the lake.
The lake behind me.
That hilltop on the left is under construction.
Blue Prince time!
Anna’s plants still alive, and growing.

Wednesday 16 April 2025

The two-day cookies got baked, as well as some cheese-bits.
The tennis hall across the gym, as the sky was extra blue.
Dinner, by Anna!
