Spring Weather / Partial Solar-Eclipse / Gatherings

[Photos taken 26 – 31 March 2025, posted online 27 December 2025. Rarely have I fallen this far behind, but oh well.]

Life as usual reasserted itself with alarming speed after we returned from Tenerife! We were of course greeted with plenty of rain, but the week also included hail, snow, and dryness. Typical spring!

Anna fought with computing equipment and kept her young summer plants alive, Emma and I went on an outing, there were at least four gatherings with people (sewing club, friend dinner, cousin-meetup, ex-coworker dinner), a partial solar-eclipse, and gym-sessions!

Wednesday 26 March 2025

It was a rainy day back at the office.
Anna practiced installing the Window’s operating system on an old computer we had.
She also screwed her own laptop apart, as one of the fans had broken, and was making a very loud noise. The local shop didn’t have the correct spare part, and failed to order it, so it wasn’t until she’d moved to Denmark in the fall that she managed to fix the her laptop.

We got a new fruit delivery, with a random sweet potato thrown in for good measure.
Emma kept recording her home-reading.
Emma and I ended up at a cafe…
… that has expressly forbidden laptops after 6 in the afternoon.
Anna’s summer plants kept growing under a random LED-lamp that I’d bought from Ikea a long time ago.
A sewing club! Yay! Yum!

Random image from outside the gym. Spring was in the air.
It looks like I squatted 100 kg. My squat depth has been pretty acceptably deep this year, but learning to optimally and correctly stiffen my torso, as well as trying not to collapse forward, has been this year’s focus.
Lounging in the hot tub, spring-style.

It was a partial-solar-eclipse-day! I went hunting for some old film-stubs…
Engineering-students observing the universe.
Doubling the film-stubs worked pretty well!
With a bigger background.
Out in the yard, buds were budding, in spite of the white on the ground.
We drove over to Reykjanesbær for a dinner with friends. They’d just reclaimed their old TV corner, after it had been temporarily walled off and made into a bedroom for the youngest one. As the oldest one recently moved out, it was no longer needed!
Dinner being served.
So juicy!
I brought some knitting along!

Sunday 30 March 2025

The day began with a cousin-meetup, and a good chat.
Finnur took it upon himself to be a data-base-studies tutor for the engineering students.
Emma experimented with hair-curling.
Bjarki on his own laptop.
Hail?!
The day ended with a dinner with ex-coworkers. Always lovely to catch up!

I have no idea why I took a photo of the lifting plates, unless this was after a rearrangement, where they finally took the wheels off the racks, so they were less wobbly?
Attempting to shine a light on the too-leggy miniature-sunflowers. Thus endeth March 2025!!
