So Far, So Good
Tonight was the first evening I’ve had to do work this semester – and that was only because this day turned out to be entirely packed with meetings and interesting lectures. I learnt for example that there are very few female professors in the medical department, and that when one of the first women doctors graduated from medical school in 1977, people would come to her, not for medical service, but just to take a look at her. This new phenomenon of a female doctor. How times have changed, but also how times haven’t changed.
So yes, aside from tonight, I’ve manged to be a very good girl and not work in the evening to prep lectures. It really does help that I’ve got all the slides mostly prepped for my ‘old’ class, and that I’m blatantly using the slides that come with the book for the ‘new’ class. The real test will be next week though because then I will have to start grading assignments for the first time this semester. That will be no fun at all.
