Still horizontal
The luxury service regarding Bjarki continued today. Finnur’s sister showed up early this morning to take him into daycare, and at the end of the day, Finnur’s mom (just back from a weekend trip) picked him up, stopped by our place to pick up some clothing supplies and drop of some food supplies, and then drove him to her place where he is staying the night. She will then be taking him into daycare tomorrow morning, and if the lucky stars finally start shining my way, I’ll be in a shape to pick him up. Here’s me crossing my fingers. Also THANK YOU!! 🙂
Judging by today, however, it’s not looking terribly likely at this point. I still had the same fever as ever this mid-afternoon at which point I caved in to my aching body and took a painkiller (which is wearing off right about now). Yes, I’ve finally established that our bed has reached the end of its lifespan. After spending about two days straight in it, my back was just about ready to jump out of my body. That’s when I realized that the mattress in Anna’s bed is significantly newer and oh, boy, what a difference!
The big problem is though that I need to sleep in our bed for Bjarki’s sake, so as not to cause a nervous breakdown when he doesn’t find me in the morning in my expected spot. It is therefore such a relief to have Bjarki staying elsewhere, at least for one night. And I’m sooo taking a painkiller before falling asleep.
A couple of unhappy side-effects of my illness is that I won’t be able to attend the EM final that will be held tomorrow morning, nor give my presentation on how I will be adjusting my Antennas course for next year as a result of taking a course (myself) in the Education department. I will however try to record a slideshow using some newfangled technology when my health decides to make a reappearance.
Until then, I remain horizontal.
p.s. All good news from Finnur and Anna today. They did manage to shop for clothes yesterday and not get entirely crushed. They visited Anna’s old school today and apparently it went pretty well. 🙂
