The View From my Office Window
I am very fortunate to have quite a nice view out of my office window. These days the sun is rising lazily somewhere past 8am, and soon Anna will be walking to school in darkness. These photos were taken on Friday, 22 October 2010.
8:58am. The Pearl is the main focal point of my view. It's a dome that sits on top of hot-water storage tanks. On the top floor inside the dome is a restaurant, which is on a rotating platform. I've yet to go and eat at that restaurant, maybe it's time to do something about that?!
8:59am. Never trust the lighting in a photograph! This is the view to the north of the Pearl (i.e. more to the left out of my window). Note the snow-blustered mountains.
9:00am. This is all I see of Mount Esja, my favorite mountain, that sits to the north of Reykjavik.
9:52am. I swapped out the zoom lens for my regular walk-about lens as the sun rose higher into the sky. This is more akin to what I see to the right out of my window. Note the mountains - they often look lovely.
